So my millionth pair of crappy in-ear buds shorted out on me again today. These ones didn't even make it 6 months Mad . I don't understand how I'm so hard on these stupid things but fuck it I'm not buying anymore ear buds so I went and got a nice pair of cans.

I ended up getting these for 200$ http://www.sennheiser.ca/live/senn/produit/en/1376/14. More than I really wanted to pay but I know Sennheiser is quality stuff and hopefully these will last. These ones actually sounded better than a 400$ pair they had at the store.

They sound damn awesome and they are pretty lightweight and comfy too so I can be on the go with them (my pair of AT M-50s are way too hefty to be portable really). Just hope they can stand up ok to the weather around here.

haha yeah I know you got the awesome 500$ ones. HD600? Is that the ones?

edit: post 3000 FTW!

edit2: nevermind yours aren't Sennheisers.

Right. I remember the topic you made awhile back about getting some cans. You must have mentioned looking into sennheisers... My mistake.

I came into this prepared to scream "Sennheiser or go home" but it seems you have chosen wisely this time...

Yeah I was split between the HD650's and my current one's. Came pretty close to buying the Sennheisers.

I'm really loving the feel of these. I can wear them for hours on end and I can barely notice I'm wearing them.

And the sound quality is obviously the tits. Softer things like acoustic guitar or piano are really airy and spacious with these. It's like I'm almost in the room with the instruments. You really get a feel for the reverb with these.

I only have one gripe. The plug on the end is 1/4" only instead of a combo plug (like my AT-M50s) it came with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter but it makes the plug end unnecessarily huge. It also won't fit through the headphone port opening on my phone which is my portable music player so I have to keep taking the case apart to use it which is unnecessary wear on the case.

oh and poor high hat/cymbal mixing can be annoyingly apparent with these but that's not really the headphones' fault.

Other than that these things are the awesome sauce.

Indeed Sennheiser is a great brand in the pro audio world. They make great mics too.

I assume you must have a pair as well? which ones are you rocking?

1/4" to 1/8" adapter?

Unless it's something like this those fuckers can mess up headphone jacks easily. I'd be cautious about using a single piece one.

I've got a custom braided cable myself because my 10ft one was way too long and I kept yanking my headphone's off my desk because of it. I just broke it yesterday though from knocking my amp off my desk(pic), but luckily the dude that made it is gonna repair it for free.

yeah it's a solid piece one that came with the headphones and yeah I agree it seems super sketchy. The the sheer weight of it seems to put alot of sideways pressure on the socket.

Thanks for posting that amazon link though. I went looking for something just like that today but didn't find anything. It's exactly what I need.
