We do not know the exact number of people fired, but it seems to be around 25. Tthe main departments affected are hardware and android. I wonder if valve is canceling the steambox.

The man in charge of designing the controller for the Steambox was laid off.

I was never really confident the steam box would be really good or would take off. If I wanted a console with swapable hardware I'd just build myself a PC which would probably have better specs for the same money.

I don't know...it just didn't make much sense to me.

Gaben actually released a statement about the layoffs, which is rather odd.

Basically, he said that nothing is changing on the project end, they just wanna restructure the company.
