A representative for Microsoft has exclusively confirmed to Joystiq today that the Family Gold Membership Pack for Xbox LIVE is no longer available to purchase. The special membership bundle had been created in November 2010 to allow families to buy four annual Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions in a single transaction, for a reduced overall cost of $99.99.
Microsoft's spokesperson gave the following explanation on the company's latest business decision:
The Family Gold offer is no longer available for purchase... The Family Center experience with settings management, allowance granting, child activity reports and family subscriptions management are still available for current Family Gold members at this time...
