Trials or Persona 4 golden?

I cant decide between these two games

I really want something to play on my Vita, however Persona is twice the cost of Trials.

Persona 4

It may be twice the cost, but it will last way longer (around 80 hours the first playthrough) and its one of the best games I've ever played.

I havent played a good JRPG in ages

Might be a good way to re join the genre

Trials, I'm sure you can get way more than 80 hours out of it, fo'so'.

besides Persona 4 I'd also recommend Persona 3 PSP version,it's $20.

it started out a tiny bit slow but is addicting,I really should play it more.

Got Persona 4 on the PS2 awhile back but never took it out of the shrink wrap yet,but it got reviews as one of the very best jrpgs besides being one of the few last "true" ones.

Well it's more just hanging out with friends than dating... but you're probably not serious. I can't really tell :/

Calling it a dating sim is a bit misleading.

You have "social links" where you hang out with characters in the game. They are each assigned an arcana. As your relationship with them grows, certain things happen. If they are your party member, they get new moves and become stronger. If they are an NPC, you get a large EXP bonus when fusing a persona of their respective arcana. There is very little dating involved. With social links with female characters, you can choose to have them be your girlfriend and that's it.

But I digress. My point is that the dating sim half of the game provides a compelling way to link the characters and caring about the characters and the story to the gameplay itself. In general, dating sim technology is a powerful engine that can be hooked to a variety of different game types.

Q: Any dating sim like games...?

Are there any games that are either dating sims or have dating sim like qualities in them? Anything for 360, PS3, or PSP. No imports please.

A: Persona 4 is also another option. Like Persona 3, your Social Links help you create and fuse new stronger Persona to help you throughout your journey, being social and making friends / dating takes up a lot of the game, and to be honest is one of my favourite things about the new Persona games.

Think Ill go with Trials..

Ah, don't listen to me man. I've never even played it. I've heard it is great, but the fact that so many people say that the school/social/dating aspect of it is half the playtime turns me off on it.

The game takes place over a year and you play through each day as a highschool student and you do go to school, get a part time job, etc. During all that, there is a serial killer throwing people in dungeons and you have a certain amount of days to get through the dungeon and beat the boss to save them. It IS part life sim like harvest moon, but it's actually really fun. The game wouldn't be getting 9s and 10s across the board from different kinds of gamers if that aspect of the game wasn't good.

Persona 4 is a solid contender for top 50 games of all time. Damn good game.

Well considering I sold my Vita today this is an easy choice
