Bioshock and CoD had a bastard child. Good game, but it's just not Bioshock.

I was totally unprepared for teh racism lol

I shouldn't have been surprised since the game is set in 1918 but still I was kinda shocked by it.

Having two weapons, no health kits anymore, but a rechargable shield instead. Fighting against mostly gun toting enemies, ammo freaking everywhere, having to duck behind cover a lot. These aren't really bad changes per say, but it makes it feel less like Bioshock. Also, they completely removed anything resembling big daddies and little sisters, and you buy everything with cash now.

The shield system is more like Halo than CoD, and there are health kits. As well as food and salt.

Most FPS games have you shooting at enemies that have guns, and make you use cover. It's really the nature of the genre...

And I guess you missed the handymen.

It definitely is different in ways than the previous games(for better IMO, Bioshock 2 had a lot of the same shit and wasn't that great), but the CoD comparison doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

By health kits I meant ones that you carry with you, like in the previous Bioshock games. You carried around health kits and EVE Hypos. Now levels are just littered with Salts and health kits that instaheal you. Yes the shield thing is more Halo, but it's similar to the recharging health in CoD. In the previous Bioshock games, most of the enemies used melee weapons to fight you, or some other way to fight you besides just using a gun. I have mixed feelings about the change. I fucking LOVED the atmosphere of Rapture, and so far, Columbia just doesn't do it for me.

I dunno

I disagree

Columbia is so atmospheric

Just amazing really

And yes the racism is a nice touch. Not many games touch that subject

the racism was very surprising, but it helped the whole alt-history thing. it disconnected you rather sharply from most modern gaming themes Razz

Bioshock 1 and 2 were about the dangers of Capitalism, while i guess Bioshock would be about Religion/Nationalism.
