Crazy accident with water pipe at my school yesterday, three kids are in boston hospitals with 3rd degree burns

I had no idea what was going on. I was playing terraria in my dorm when the fire alarm went off. I came out the door and the whole road was full of steaming hot water and there were firetrucks and ambulances everywhere.

Apparently a hot water pipe burst and someone pulled the fire alarm in a dorm right next to mine. Then some girls stepped in the water when they were evacuating the dorm and it melted their sneakers and fucked up their feet.

Holy shit, that's crazy. Just how hot is that water?

Pretty close to boiling by the sounds of it.

Werid we had a water pipe break in our school a few weeks ago, wasn't hot water thankfully.
