So I got everything together for my build but it doesn't want to post. I hit the power button and my led fans flash on for a split second but then everything is off again... Sounds like something is shorting the motherboard or something. The mobo power led is on so I know it's getting power.

What say you pc gurus? What did I fuck up? I'm going to take everything apart again and double check the connections.

you sure the RAM is seated properly? same thing happened to me on my first build and that's what it turned out to be. i was so afraid of snapping the motherboard i didn't push hard enough to seat the RAM all the way (hurhur).

Generally most motherboards have some way of telling you what is wring. Mine has a little lcd display and shows error codes I can look up in the manual, but must just beep. Did you install the standoffs correctly?

HydrasBreath ♜

HydrasBreath ♜

Well currently I took everything appart again... Checked the cpu socket to make sure there aren't any bent pins... Everything looks good there. I redid the mobo screws. The standoffs are built right into the case. I'm going to reseat the ram and rewire everything.

The case or the mobo didn't come with a speaker so I don't have anything to hook up to get error codes.

I'll try hooking everything up again. See how that goes.

Second time rebuilding still nada... I'll probably give up for tonight.

Yeah that would blow... I think you're gonna have to take it to a PC shop to get a diagnostic thingy-majig hooked up to it since it doesn't display error codes. Although I'd think that most mobos would have a LED display on them by now.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Very Happy

That sucks man.
First, check to see if it is a PC because anything having to do with computers sucks and is lame.

If it is a gaming PC then check your nether region for a cock and/or balls. Most gaming PC's won't even turn on if you have those, so chop that shit off and put in a tampon. It'll probably fire right up. (an alternative method is to put on an MLP t-shirt).

Hope that helps.

...In all seriousness that does suck and I hope you get it sorted out.

it's an m-Itx board so not alot of room. There's a power LED and a DRAM LED and the TPU boost LED and that's it.

Error codes are beeps and my chassis didn't come with a speaker just front panel I/O.

damn,if everything is connected right sadly the motherboard is probably fried. It's what I was scared of when getting my pc and my bros

all there is to do pretty much is put the cpu in,ram in,then sata and power for dvd drive and hard drive, then hook 24 pin power to mobo, then cpu power pin, then obviously some fans

Just looked through the motherboard manual and there should be two LED's on the motherboard. One telling you if the motherboard is getting power, and another that says the ram is okay.

Huh I thought the ram led only lit if there was an error... It's not lighting up when I try to post.

Yeah I believe it comes on when there is an issue, not sure. I would honestly call the the manufacturer and start troubleshooting with them. They should be able to help you figure out if the motherboard is defective. Hopefully you get this sorted out quickly.

Yeah I don't see what else could be wring maybe a faulty PSU or CPU but that seems Unlikely.

One of the fans had a backwards labeled led power connector or something I had to plug it in backwards to work plugged the right way it was shorting out the whole system.
