Actually a recent Gallop poll showed only 4% of Americans wanted new gun control laws. That peskery Democracy strikes again when the senators listened to their contituents. The second amendment was crafted to protect us from the government, foreign entities, and criminals. Criminals will get guns no matter what law is passed but the phrase "shall not infringe" is there for a reason and honest, law-abiding citizens do not need even more laws put upon them.

Gun control, taxes, wars, whatever the issue, I don't really think senators base their votes on what people from their state want most of the time anyways. If that were the case the Iraq war would've been a lot shorter and senators would probably be paid a lot less.
