Yay. I think this will decide if i want a PC or not.

eh....I'm goin for ps4 for free online. It's a joke to have to pay for online in this day and age when every other service offers it free. I don't even care if there's no party chat,I'll use free skype or other progam like team-speak...

I wont be buying a next Xbox

No way

Just excitied for modern hardware.

After the 360, no thanks.

I'll probably get a PS4 and a Wii U later if it gets more games. I'm actually hoping that Microsoft does the always-online thing. It would be funny Very Happy

What was so bad about the 360?

I mean I was satisfied. I'm definitely glad I got it over the PS3.

I thought the 360 was a solid console

Unless the specs blow me away, I will not be buying this.

You won't be buying a next gen console or you won't be buying the next Xbox?

Because I would find it strange if you have already decided not to buy the Xbox when nothing official has even been announced about it.

I mean, I think the ps3 was pretty bad in nearly every way and probably my least favorite console ever, but I'm still willing to give the PS4 a chance if it turns out to be good.

I also find it silly that Tapia would decide not to get one simply because of Live. A service which has proven itself better than PSN in many, many ways and which doesn't even cost as much per month as my coffee in the morning.

...Then again I hate PC with an unreasonable passion so who am I to talk.

I would tell you why, but you would probably shrug it off anyways haha

If I have the money when the new xbox comes out, Ill probably buy one.

But its unlikely that I will have the money, so Im not sure if that will happen....

I agree. Unless Live turns into what PS+ is, I will not even consider getting the console.

I haven't even touched my consoles since I got a gaming PC, so unless there is some extremely awesome looking exclusives on the consoles that I can't get on PC and my friends are playing them, I'll likely stay away from them.

having to pay to be able to use basic online services... fuck that. no digital distribution client on PC makes me pay for the honour of being able to use my own internet connection, because its fucking BS.

oh, and Steam is better than XBL in a bunch of ways, and you only need one game on it to use everything. Gold is a joke and im glad to be rid of it. PSN actually gives you free games, for less than Gold costs... think about that.

JrTapia1991

JrTapia1991

it's not even about the cost to me, it's the principle of it with me. People say xbl is better for them and that's cool if they really believe so,but all it has over psn is party chat (well, Vita does have party chat so ps4 most likely will)

I think steam is better than xbl too, it's a free service and isn't laggy.

but you can just use skype or teamspeak to chat with friends. I really don't care for the party system anyway, friends of friends always join in which I find highly annoying and just talk about random stupid shit,or are in different games. I don't really get on games to socialize, I get on to blow up chewbaccas Twisted Evil

truth be told I don't even know if my friends will get next gen consoles on launch,which....I only regularly game with like 2 people.

single player stuff gets extremely cheap on pc,and I'd just use the console for co op stuff with them.

on one hand I'm glad I got xbox because I met everybody here and have had good times but on the other hand I look at the cost of live when other services are free, and the hardware failure myself and millions of others probably had, and I just shake my head at xbox. This isn't even factoring in the stupid online only possibility of the next xbox "720"

other thing I liked about sony is they let us use our own hard drive in their system....xbox made you buy their own very expensive in comparison HDD.

The Adli Corporation wrote: PSN actually gives you free games, for less than Gold costs... think about that.

I subscribe to PS+ and I think it's a good service, but I don't recall it being less than Gold.

Standard PSN might be free, but it is also fairly shitty compared to Live. It lacks features and chat options, connections don't seem as stable or as fast, downloads are painfully slow, updates and syncing are painful etc...

Hell, even the PSN store on the PS3 is terrible in comparison, slow, laggy, poor layout. the checkout and download process are cumbersome.

I understand people don't like paying for live, but if there were a pay option to make PSN work as well as live I would pay it.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Sony add more levels of pay service for PSN this time around.

I'm going to either get a PS4 or new Xbox, at one point. I will wait just a little while after launch to decide which unless one of them appears to be the clear standout. I always like to wait and see if the new consoles have hardware problems or the like before I sink $400+ dollars.

JrTapia1991

yeah I want to see if they have hardware problems too

I am just kinda figuring it like this.. There's not many exclusives that i really like, and i've just been lightly playing defiance at the moment, i basically use my xbox for netflix.

If i were to get a PC it'd be stronger and i'd have the abillity to play real MMOs which i've kinda been acheing for, plus any game that's multi i'd have a great PC for.

Honestly I dont see how anyone cant NOT prefer PC's at this point.

There are only two reasons, ignorance and price point. ( EDIT - IM NOT SAYING BOTH!!!! ITS USUALLY ONE OR THE OTHER DONT JUMP DOWN MY THROAT TERRY STYLE )

Not saying people cant afford them either. Please dont twist my words. But when it comes down to it, most people either dont realize how PC's work and function in 2013, or they simply are turned off by the higher price point. Simple. Thanks for letting me clarify TERRY YOU JERK

PC's are better in every single way, the only thing I would argue consoles are better at is subjective, and thats playing with friends.

We already know next gen consoles will only be as powerful as midish range PC right now.

Software is subjective as well. But really most games come to PC, and there are far more PC exclusives than console exclusives.

I know some people on here think of me as PC elitist, and I really dont care anymore. I just prefer superior hardware. And that IS NOT subjective.

PC hardware >>>>>>> console hardware

Not even close

" But I like to play with a controller "

Lamest excuse ever. Everybody should know that now every single PC game for the most part supports a gamepad. Official 360 pad works amazing on PC.

Also I could flesh this post out more but I leave it short

Mods
Cheaper games
More mature online community in game
More games
More control options
MUCH better fidelity
Open Source
No online charge
Steam
Can swap hardware whenever
Screen capture/video capture easily done
Multi screen
Hardware monitoring
Fun to build
60 FPS
1080 p
Potential for higher resolutions and higher FPS with the right hardware
Skype/Teamspeak/Steam chat

Etc

The only thing consoles have going for them is cheaper price. Which for some makes sense. But if you do anything besides gaming that requires a decent PC, then going PC for gaming is a no brainer.

So I'm ignorant because I prefer something simpler? Something I don't have to worry about viruses, adware, spyware, and any other ware that I'm not aware of (get it, lol). PCs are too complicated, and too easy to fuck up if you don't know what your doing, and I don't. So I guess thats ignorance, but its also kinda a pretentious statement to make in a place that was founded on console gaming....

Everything you said I agree with besides those two things. There really is no open source software that concerns games besides OBS.

Seems to me you would consider PC if the price point was more in line with a console.

I dunno

Playing BF3 and CS GO for countless hours I've hardly ever ran into the young, annoying kids you get every day on Live.

I just want some fun games, i'd imagine with the new hardware they could be a little more creative. Maybe i just need to take a break from gaming to be honest.

You really should learnt o play with MKB controls. Makes FPS games much better IMO. It would really help you get alot more life out of your PC.

Price isn't really my only (or main) concern my friend. It would appear you didn't fully read my post either >_>

Its more of a technical/ maintenance issue for me. If something goes wring with my PC, I can't fix it. And small technical issues are far more common on PCs then on consoles. Not that Consoles don't have hardware issues from time to time, but software and setting issues would probably have me pulling my hair out.

Also, the controller thing is a legit argument, simply because if I do use a controller I will be at a marked disadvantage compared to people who are practiced at M/KB. So to play competitive multiplayer I would have to learn M/KB and I'm too old of a dog to learn that trick.

Just saying its not just poor people and idiots who have consoles

Fair enough

I would counter that by asking you why are you scared to learn about operating a PC? Trust me. Its not rocket science, and most of it is just common sense. I think you would be surprised how easy it is to maintain and run a PC these days.

On the controller....thats totally subjective. The option is there to play with a controller though.

I suppose I could try to learn, I'm sure it wouldn't be too terribly difficult. But I guess it comes down to the hassle. As I said, I love that everyday I go up to my console I turn it on and it works just as well as the day I bought it.

With a PC slowdown and such is inevitable, and can become pretty noticeable after a year or two. I find that frustrating, and part of the viscous cycle of upgrading to keep up performance. Which goes right back to one thing you said, the price issue.

PC slowdown is hardly inevitable.

And what viscous cycle? Im using a 5 year old GPU in my system right now that plays BF3 far above console spec. This is a card I bought 5 years ago.....

I honestly think your over stating these things.

With proper care, no PC should have slowdown. And you dont HAVE to upgrade yours system nearly as often as you think.

Just saying.

The 360 was a shitty console in my opinion.

- Crappiest hardware ever. I wonder how many of those almost 80 millions of 360s sold were bought from people that had their 360 die on them and bought another one because they were out of warranty or just decided to get a new one. I know of people with up to 4-5 360s WTF

- Exclusives. It's subjective, but holy shit did it suck. The only worthwhile game exclusive to the 360 was Ninja Gaiden 2 (Sigma 2 on the PS3 wasn't as good), and the Gears franchise, which died with Gears 3 and Epic's money hungry practices (dedicated servers? LOLZ no guise, you have to buy DLC to keep using them). The rest are down to Forza and Halo, with Halo being one of the most boring experiences I've had, and Forza not really being something I'm interested in.
This is the 360: Halo, Gears, Forza, repeat.

- Xbox Live Gold. Anything on my PC shits all over it, fuck, even Origin does. YAY! Let's pay to see ads and have access to stuff that's free everywhere else! The only thing that actually makes it look "ok", is the fact that the PS3, its only console competitor with an online network, has had some troubles with the PSN, and its low amount of RAM makes party chat impossible and its store slow at times. With the PS4 not having trouble with RAM, I don't know what Microsoft will do to keep charging for online. They'll probably say that the money is to keep apps like the Pizza Hut shit coming.

Those are just at the top of my head, but unless the PS4 majorly fucks up, the Wii U doesn't get any new games, and the new Xbox is the next coming of the FSM, I can't see myself buying the NextBox. Not when a PC does everything it can (but better) and a lot more.

Its control is damn good though. Except its control pad ...

By the way, why do you hate PCs so much Metal?
