Actually your right, they moved it in the CGI. You can see the actual river here, in the pic CGI its been moved right a bit, but if you look close you can see at side of the guys chin, the actual river.

I was there a few weeks ago which the only reason I picked this out. Walking from the big white cathedral (il duomo), the river comes AFTER the brown castle type building (palazzo vecchio).

I think they wanted to include that famous bridge in the CGI scene so they moved the river to separate the two buildings.
