fucking yes. I played like 3 games of Air Superiority and gave up, because that shit was impossible. Instakills all around. Can't wait to actually get to learn to play first.

Yeah I suck at flying the jets too. I'm ok at flying a chopper but I'll get shot down because I have no dogfighting skills.

Dogfighting is pretty much the only reason I don't whore jets. It's super boring and the Super Hornet has a blatantly tighter turn radius. The shitty spot/render distance on consoles doesn't help either.

I find not having a proper tutorial is horrible. I couldnt be bothered to learn the jets in BF3 since I just got owned the second I took off.

A good pilot will still smoke someone who just knows how to not crash.

It's like Milk said...it just teaches them how to not crash not strategies to be a good pilot.

Unless the practice mode has some mission scenarios and isn't just an empty sandbox type deal where you have free reign over some vehicles.

Having a test flight tutorial would be like getting a tutorial on how to shoot guns.

We've all seen that guy. The guy we can kill, even if we are one shot away from death and he has an M16.

Now lets give that guy a full on tutorial on a gun, tell him about recoil, how bloom works, etc.

So now, instead of dying to nearly everyone he meets, he's at least competent.

So instead of Z1llah killing most of you in a 1v1 heli battle, it's now the level 5 who used to crash into mountains and is able to hold his own against you.

A tutorial won't help you much against someone like Z1llah, only practice will. It will make every enemy you see suddenly likely able to kill you or at least disable you.

still won't do much good against a team full of engineers with nothing but stingers if they know what they're doing, and insta kill you after you only get to flare once lmao.


I'm still pretty bleh about them removing the chopper gunners flares, I haven't noticed much of a difference at all in terms of chopper whoring,high levels still do it anyway, and people just adapted and spam stingers/igla now


I mostly like infantry maps anyway, jets don't win the match anyway in ALLLLL the hours I've played, a very good chopper can be good, but if he's flying that low even rpg's could take him out/tank/ engie stinger spam


edit:tanks on the ground win games, and hell that IRV or whatever it's real name is I forget. That damn thing shoots so quick it's more scary than a tank lol.

Pretty sure you have to keep your sight trained on your target to maintain lock with most of the launchers now. The fire and forget ones do a good deal less damage, too.

Not true man. I played a game way back on Xbox when it was rare to see a hundy colonel and there were two of these guys in the jets on Kharg conquest. We couldn't do jack shit because they would kill all our armor as soon as we rolled out of spawn.

The enemy team had free reign as far as vehicles went.

For one making the missile pods the sixth unlock was stupid as hell. Those should be available from the start.

Not to mention that jets could rape stuff anally in BF2 , in BF3 they were pretty weak imo . Attack choppers are a much bigger threat.

Literally in the clouds and around the map, swooping in to line up a shot, going so fast they you don't bother with locking on anymore.

Then the 2 seaters, oh god, they rape ground even harder. Guns, missiles, bombs, then the TV missile with the gunner.

When I played BF2 I would just suicide bomb jets into individual people. I didn't have the game though I only played it at my friend's house.

I remember they were impossible to get though. Half your team would camp the aircraft carrier, and you would often get teamkilled for taking one.
