As many of us know, several weapons are being introduced into BF4 as "combat/battlefield pickups"
These weapons currently include the M32 semi auto grenade launcher, USAS-12 shotgun and M82 Barrett semi auto .50 BMG anti-material rifle.
From what is known about these weapons, they will be placed strategically around the map, at pre-set fixed locations and will be a one time use (meaning they have x amount of ammo, and once it's gone it's gone. They cannot be replenished by ammo boxes)
While I applaud DICE for trying to come up with interesting new features to change up their game, I fear these weapons, the M82 in particular may be detrimental to the game. Not in the sense that they would be overpowered, no. My primary point of concern is that the Ayer base will now put greater emphasis on obtaining said weapons instead of actually going for the objectives. Camping the weapons spawn point I hoping to get their hands on these "über" guns so to speak. I can already see swarms of soldiers flocking to these pre-set zones trying hard as they might to get said firearm.
While its currently unclear whether or not it will be a first come first serve basis for these weapons or if it will be on a continuous tea pawn timer regardless of how many of them are curre try in at, I simy hope it doesn't turn into a massive camp fest with people bickering over who gets the .50 cal next.
What's your guys/gals thoughts on this?
