I read the Wikipedia a bit...not really immortality. It says once it reaches sexual maturity it reverts itself back to a sexually immature state except it turns into a bunch of "babies" instead of just one. It's essentially mass cloning itself which isn't true immortality.

That original adult that spawns all the "babies" no longer exists once the babies are formed.

On a cellular level it's kind of immortal. Cloning and dividing the same cells over and over again. But as far as it's body and being being immortal...not so much.
