I don't think it's going to bounce back, I think it's safe to say the Silk Road is shut down for good. But I mean there are already multiple other places it was just the biggest one.

Apparently DPR took people's privacy extremely seriously though, according to the article he's being accused of hiring a hitman to kill someone that threatened to leak users info.

It runs through a highly anonymous network called the Tor network.

Basically it's anonymous enough that even your ISP can't see what sites you're going to(but they can see that you're using the network).

And all transactions are made in bitcoins, and bitcoin wallets don't have names attached to them.

In the Tor network I'm sure there was, so much that hacking groups got pissed off about the gov't not doing it so they started DDoSing the gov't sites with the CP servers.

But The Silk Road had absolutely nothing to do with that kind of stuff. That wasn't allowed there.

I'd add the addendum that having common sense is most important here. Using TOR for something like Pirate Bay, that's all fine and dandy, and I do that all the time. Just be careful where you go, and you shouldn't have a problem.

As to the CP in the undernet/darknet/deepweb (whatever you wanna call it, the names are kinda silly), its there. It's not so prominent honestly, nothing that'll pop out at you all the time, but its not hard to find.

Honestly, I think its one of the coolest concepts since the creation of the internet and networking as a whole. It feels like there's a whole other world to see and study. TOR and hidden networking are kinda what sparked my interest in computer science, and my hopes of becoming a network engineer.

Yep that's hidden wiki, and none .onion.to is not anon at all. Just gives access to sites on the onion network, because believe it or not there is actually some legal stuff there haha.
