Okay, I know this is limited to only helicopters so far, but based on what we know, how do you feel "helicopter" balance stacks up against what it was in BF3.

Do you think the changes are for the better? I know we didn't have access to all of the launchers, and from what others have said, the AA tank absolutely owns now.

Thoughts? This is strictly based on a what we know basis okay.

Well I think the limited ammo in the attack choppers will go a long way in keeping chopper rape down. I only died to a chopper maybe a dozen times if that.

They are more hit and run now rather than just constantly circle strafing while raining death down on everything.

I didn't feel like they were OP at all in the beta.

One competent recon and engineer and there is no enemy helo support. Helos are useless against PLD + RPG. So there is nothing to worry about them as an infantry unit as long as SOMEONE is doing the job. You can see huge diamond to lock onto when laser targeted. Its not like you need a Javelin or anything this time around. Simple rocket is the best AA in the game. So, air balance is unbalanced to infantry side, unless the team is useless.

Its probably a good news for those who enjoy ground warfare and thought air vehicles are cheating devices.

They are changing the PLD+RPG combo for the full release. That won't be in the game anymore.

The lock on RPG I think is going to go away, as much as I like the instant kill thing behind it, I don't feel a weapon that powerful should be able to lock on. Leave that to the other launchers like the javalin and what have you.

But yes, I do like the changes, I just hope they followed a similar philosophy with jets. I lost three matches now, getting absolutely bent over in BF3 because the enemy had utter air superiority and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it since Stingers and the ground AA is absolutely worthless in BF3.

I still think helicopters of any sort should have to land to repair. Mid-air repairing is dumb.
Other than that I have no issue with them.
Flew the little bird a ton in the Beta and it seems a bit more responsive than BF3, but that might just be that I was using a different control scheme in the beta.

The first few days of the beta the guns on it were insta-accurate killers, but it felt like they had adjusted them by the end they were tougher to get a kill with (same with lmg's, pretty sure they were adjusted halfway through the beta as well.)

Are you talking about vehicle mounted MGs? Or the support kit LMGs?
