If you don't mind answering that is. 

How much did yours cost? And how much did your insurance cover?

cause I was just looking and the average price in California is almost 20grand. And im starting to get worried, as I know im gonna be in debt.

Which is HIGHLY fucking upsetting as until this year ive never been in debt of any kind. I had fucking great credit, never had an overdraft charge on any of my accounts. Now im several hundred dollars in debt because of this damn shoulder. I have a 600 dollar phone bill they are hounding me for. Not to mention the almost 2k in bills from hospital visits.

God, even if I wanted to go to college there is now no point it seems like. if this surgery is going to cost me a lot, im never going to be able to afford college.

To be honest, I can't remember what the bill for that was.

Since it was a claim on the insurance we never saw a bill. He went in for surgery, all bills were sent to our lawyer and when they distributed funds it was paid that way.

I can try to see if I can find it in my file and let you know.

Its something ive thought about. But ive always been against it because I was always adamant about not falling into debt with loans and such

And well, thanks to the stupidity of a friend, im now going to be in debt, and unlike college, not have anything to show for it

Ok. So, from what I found...the surgery itself was about 13k, NOT including anesthesia. The anesthesia was about $600 on its own.

I wasn't actually going to study anything. I mean, General Ed I would do yes. Maybe stay to get an associates degree or something. 
But I was planning on taking a variety of classes ranging from fire tech to welding at the same time.

Im honestly debating joining the military when I recover. At least I know I can get something there.

I know. Ridiculous. And the anesthesiologist was privately contracted through the facility. She didn't ever work FOR the facility (or doctor) who did the procedure. She set her own rates.

You're welcome.

I would look over your insurance and see just what they cover and how much. If the doctor spins everything the right way you could get more covered than you think.

Ask her.

She should be able to get ahold of a coverage list that shows the percentages you would have to pay.
Also, depending on the insurance company, if your family has met the FAMILY deductible, you may not pay much at all (generally nothing).

Also, if the surgery causes you to reach that deductible and then some, you will still have to pay some but not all.

Try to find that out.

1.Its Dr Frost MD PHD and CDS

2.I can do the surgery Soap, you may come out of it with another Anus but that might help with all the shit you talk Very Happy

anyway, one last word of advice. Do not pay anyone anything until AFTER they bill the insurance. Unless they (the doctor, hospital, whoever) can give you a statement showing what the insurance paid, do not pay anything!

After the insurance pays, then set up a payment plan. As long are you are paying -something- they won't (or shouldn't) send it to collections...even if its a year later and you haven't paid it off.
