[FO:NV] Freezing/locking up? Because of UPDATE???

I tried playing last night and the game froze 4 times in a row on me within 30 mins of playing. This is the first... ha haa 1st-4th time the game has locked up on me BUT only after updating the game. I played perfectly fine before the update.

First time: trying to fast travel from Nipton to Mojave outpost. Froze in the loading screen

second time: trying to run from nipton to MO. froze when i got to the base of the hill where the two statues are.

Third time: tryed leaving nipton and waiting for an hour or two. Froze again trying to fast travel to MO (in the loading screen).

Fourth time: decided to hang around nipton, waited for 5 hrs. game autosaved! i killed one bark scorpion in the trailers in town and the game froze.

I had my game freeze three times in a row the second day it was out, but that was the only time it's frozen on me other than whenever I use terminals.

Did you update in Nipton? If so, that was the problem. Clear your Cache, move away from Nipton, and then re do the patch.

What does Nipton have to do with the problem?

Apparently, updating in Nipton causes problems with the game. There was a topic about it on Bethesda's forum.

I haven't updated yet but did they fix the terminal glitch?

I'm not sure. I've never seen the terminal glitch.

Apparently it only happens to a few people. At first I just couldn't see anything on the screen but now they make my game freeze.

Pardon my lack of knowledge. But i forgot how to clear the cache. I was attempting to find where to do that last night, but gave up.

I'll clear the cache play the game and move out of nipton then save and re-do the update!

Go to your hard drive and hit y, then clear system cache

The game froze on me twice yesterday, but never near Nipton. It wasn't so bad though, because I had saved right before both times.

Twenty hours in and ive yet to have my game glitch or freeze. Maybe I'm just lucky.

God I hope they get this shit sorted out before I scrape the money together for this game.

What is the update supposed to do?

Patch for PC version fixed all the bugs for me, and the patch released today fixed the saving issues.

I can't do a bunch of quests because terminals freeze my game. Like Veronica's quest where you have to find proof that the brotherhood is failing, I can't use the terminal in the shack to get the info I need.

My game hasn't froze since it did twice on the first day, and that's becuase it didn't save properly, but it got a weird lag once and I had to restart. :/

I didn't install the update and my game has been fine. I did crash once when randomly wandering but that's it.

Cleared the cache re-located outside of nipton than re-downloaded the update. No freezing issues anymore!
