I'm considering doing it right now. If you did it, and it stayed on your record, how much of an impact has that had on you?
Anyway, I developed an abscess a few weeks back, and it pretty much incapacitated me for a week. I had to go to the ER to get it taken care of, and I missed a full week of school. Unfortunately during that week of school that I missed, I squandered a bunch of time I had to work on this paper. So I show the doctor's note to my professor, he gives me an extension of a week (I picked the time frame).
So this paper for my English Composition II class is due... four days ago. I can't write it. I got the highest grade in the class on the first essay. This one? I can't even begin. I know all my other classmates have finished it and turned it in, so I'm probably just overthinking the whole paper. I'm supposed to compare four plays to Oedipus Rex, and analyze how drama has changed over the centuries.
Anyway, I really got screwed by some bad luck. Then I get the extension, underestimate the assignment, and dig a hole for myself and fill it with wet cement. I had a chance to make things up, but I haven't yet.
So whatever. Long story short, I've got to do this paper or drop this class. I'm weighing my options.
I'd love to get the paper done and turn it in, but I'll probably have tons of points deducted for being so late. I probably could have written total shit and turned it in on time, and I'd end up getting more points. That's what perfectionism gets you. Fuckin' A.
*****TL;DR --- You ever drop a class? How has it affected the rest of your college career?
