But wouldn't that mean you have less chance of killing people as there would be less fire power coming down to kill someone in a certain area?

Yes, but I still usually a few kills. A lot of times there are red dots in multiple areas of the map so I set down one in each. If they are all in a certain pert of the map, I will put the three circles around that area.
