Why we'd survive a zombie apocalypse 0102489519-50-04

That whole article treats a zombie apocalypse like it's in a controlled environment. It's chaos. The rednecks would not be gathering together to eliminate the zombies.

*Scoffs*

My zombies would go for the rednecks first.

They also make it sound like everyone would already have a gun and be ready for the apocalypse.

Shit if it happened right now! I'd be going down aisle 5 (which is 30' away) and getting me a maul axe.

That's exactly what happened at the end of Night Of The Living Dead (1990).

"Add to the mix the sheer number of armed rednecks and hunters out there, and the zombies don't even stand a chance."

I'm here! Proud "redneck" AND hunter and I'm very well armed. Very Happy

But they are forgetting is that a zombie apocalypse has it power in how many zombeis there are and in most fiction eating a zombie would cause the thing that ate it to turn into one.

We're eating zombies now? affraid

No the article said that our main defense would be dogs, bears, and other predators eating zombies.

Ahh, yeah forgot about that lol.

I don't think animals are affected by zombie-ism.

Yah it seems it is different with every zombie movie/video game I play.

The whole article states the obvious as to why it would be nigh impossible to naturally start, and keep going. It would be like trying to start a fire with flint and steel, on a wet piece of pine; it's not going to happen. You would have to start it by intentionally spreading the disease yourself; ie, injecting patients with the disease, spreading it with a bomb or some other means, etc.

How could you not be prepared to have a gun. My gun sits about 5 feet away from me at all times, and I have a small amount of ammunition hidden nearby at all times, in case of intruders, mainly.

True true.

I always consider Romero's rules as the end all be all.

I can create a zombie apocalypse scenario easily. No flint and wet wood. Just ask what Carlito did.

I'm actually quite calm whenever I hold a firearm; I have taught myself never to feel anger while close to one/holding one, to avoid danger to others. I will never harm another person unless it is out of defense, regardless of how angry I get.

Oh alright, lol. I was kinda feeling insulted for a second. That's alright though. Very Happy

I liked the part about mowing them down with miniguns from helicopters. And the CDC.

I live in Canada. It'd be too cold for corpses to re-animate without falling apart due to severe frostbite.

But what if they were like RE zombies? With BOW's and shit. That would be a wee bit different.

That's kinda what I was thinking would be the only way; somebody would have to intentionally introduce the virus and experiment with it.

i honestly dont know any guy who cant fire a .22 but fireing other calibar weapons would be harder, but i think its pretty simple, point and shoot,
yes i know how to fire a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, Boy scouts ftw

Pretty much Jitty. I don't know how somebody could lack the know-how of how to use a weapon, even if not properly. Loading a weapon and using it isn't difficult at all. Using it well is kind of a different story, for whatever reason, but pretty much.
