Black Ops DLC

They just announced a DLC, its 4 multiplayer maps and a zombies map.

Should be coming out february 1st for 1200 msp.

Theres one more called Kowloon set in Hong Kong (the famous walled city), but no pics have been released yet of it.

Not really sure if im going to buy this, depends on if im playing black ops or not at that point. Hopefully, Ill still be playing Vietnam

Wow that seems like a decent value if none of the maps are remakes and or suck.

I wish the CoD series would branch out with their expansion packs though instead of always just releasing maps. New weapons/gametypes/ etc. you know

Oh well BO is terrible anyway, nice to see 95% of my friends list moved on from it. Vietnam will last me at least until the BF3 beta (which I may pick up MoH just for access, unless that offer is over).

When they set the pricing on these map packs do they even compare it to other games on the marketplace? Or do they just know that the CoD community will buy it first-day regardless of how many maps are actually in it.

I don't know. Dice said they'll have an announcement 'real soon', which in Dice time is anywhere from 3-6 months.

Also Vietnam marks the end of all post-launch support for Bad Company 2. We never got to see the VADS tank

You're aware that the guns aren't actually reskins...right?


The SA weapons are re-skins. Same reload animations, model used and sound clips. The weapons in Vietnam are what we call re-modeling because its actual work on the developer's end, but even then we're getting different damage totals and recoil patterns in some cases, along with new guns that we don't have a Vanilla counterpart of like the Uzi/MAC-11, M14, Flamethrower, M16 and M40.

(by variant I mean the guns functioning entirely different from any base weapon in Vanilla, even the guns that are 'the same' by name and model similarities)

Far from a whole repackage, but you're the one trying to justify a CoD map pack over a whole new game so yeah...

Theyre not even though. There are no guns in vanilla that have the same damage specs. Most guns in Vietnam are actually more powerful.

Yes they are except for the one less bullet to kill on most.

If guns deal different amounts of damage, and have different recoil spreads, AND sound different, theyre not re-skins. Thats a different gun.

I dont think either of us can be really sure about this. But there is no auto M14 or AK47 or XM22, so there HAS to be new gun design.

Ak47=AEK
XM22=SAW
I believe the m14 is one of the few weapon designs and stats from Medal of honor.

Now I'm wondering how much they'll charge for the map pack with the W@W zombie maps.

If it was 800 points, I'd consider it, but it's not, so it's between FO:NV and Vietnam. If the hit detection hasn't been worked on, I'm not getting it.

apparently its a lot better according to the PC guys


and the M40 is sex in gun form apparently.

I'll probably consider it then. I like the look of Vietnam and the maps; it looks good like 1943, but as I said, if the hit detection is as buggy as normal BC2, I'm not getting it.

Is it because of the OSK range it has?
