I woke up for work early today! and what to my wondering eyes would appear, but a sleigh full of GI's flaming from ear to ear!

I played for about 10-15 mins before continuing getting ready for work!
Jumped in my first match with Fr0st and GM, and got put on the other team, got 3 kills in a row while defending a flag then the rest of the time i died!

Best moment was the next level we played. As i spawn as an american with a m20 bravo i run towards the GOOK bastards yelling "GET SOMMMEEE"!!! then i hosed about 3-4 people and got plastered every time after that!

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!

It doesn't look very extravagant but from what my crusty rubbed eyes saw for 10-15 minutes it was fun.

Brief summary!

VERY BASIC game play.

Don't expect red dot's or acog's on your weapons.
Don't expect multiple weapon choices.
Don't expect motion mines.
Don't expect huge amounts of vehicles.
Don't expect massive levels

Expect a stripped down version of what we've all been playing since march! cause that's what this expansion is. the same game play with ALOT less dohickies to mess around with.

Assault: m16 or ak47
engy two smgs
medic 3 lmgs
recon 4 snipers

all kit weapons thompson/garand/flamethrower/870 combat shotgun.

You still get mortars as a recon and china lakes as assaults!

EXPECT ALOT OF BUSHWOOKIES NAO!!!

I played one match because i have to leave for school soon.. It's pretty impressive everyone has 3 kit weapons and theres 4 all kit weapons (Garand,Thompson,870,Flamethrower) and two pistols the M1911 and this new one i forget the name.

I played vantage point and it seemed small and fast paced.. I liked it i was useing the tank gunner seat aswel and dropping people so fast but i dont even think they tried to take me out. It does feel like people drop a bit faster but its not bad.

Will play much much more when i get back from school... (As soon as you switch to the vietnam menu fortune son starts to play but only loaded it up once so not sure if it only plays that at the menu).

So there's no unlockable weapons, Tater!? Are the maps small like CoD!? So far I am not pleased.
I heard all primary weapons were really powerful.

I can only give what i've experienced in a very short groggy waking up time of gameplay so far! I'll have a better view tonight after playing for a few hours.

Levels seemed rather congested though. about the size of laguna alta or very tunnel shaped like valpairiso.

Hmm, this news cuases conflict in my soul.

No unlockable weapons or anything except the same all kit stuff. I only played vantage point and it was pretty small dont know about the other maps and the weapons do feel like they kill a bit faster plus everyone loves to put magnum ammo on.

nothing liking seeing the enemy gathered around their Heli bad and get wipped out by a mortor strike. And the ever laughable Heli-Rape attempt in the Huey. These guys get ripped to shreads then pissed on.

Magnum ammo...every body uses it anyway. I could really only reccomend it for the M16. Since most of the guns are going to kill you fast as hell anyway. Body Armor is good for the ass-loads of grenades being tossed and survivning the flamethrowers.

As for the Maps...Welcome to the Meat Grinder, and you are going in head first.
Straight Up fight. No Bull shit just you and them and death. Like I said....you are going to die.

To say the Patrol Boat is over powerd is just stupid. A boat that is locked to only one side of the map with all crews memebers exsposed is not over powered.
Sure it has a Dual Mounted 50.cal HMG on it that cuts down men and trees alikes but it isn't like that guy can get dropped with one bullet to his face.

So lots of death. Fun death though?

Not seeing a whole lotta, "OMG this games freakin' awesome!" posts on the other forums but to the game's credit I'm not seeing a lot of negative posts either.

Go watch Hamburger Hill on netflix if you can. This shit is meant to be brutal. I like it intense. I want a god damn fight. I wanna be worried about having 8 NVA bum rush me while it make my way though trenches with Machine gun fire kicking up the dirt along the top.

Bah, this is looking less and less appealing to me. I'm a stealth person and hate being forced to fight face to face. This is why I hate maps like Laguna Presa conquest and Port Valdez rush and love Oasis and Arica Harbor conquest.


And blah blah, stats mean nothing, but I like it when my K/D goes up and not down.

Kdrs and what not for each version? I find it weird thry would link such diffrent gameplay stats.

Your BC2 stats won't be affected by the Vietnam expansion IIRC?

I'm liking how GM describes this! I think i'm gonna be a mag dumper! running up a burning hill while shooting my 60 yelling "GET SOME" as my helmet gets blown off by a glancing snipers bullet and i pepper his palm tree with hot death! then suddenly the whole screen goes black and red from an rpg hitting at my feet as i look down an my guts are spilling everywhere i yell "MEDICCCCCC".

Definitely a different feel than the original BC2. M16 is fully automatic, no built in triple burst. I miss motion mines , all the recon weapons seem to promote bush-wookieness, flamethrower seems to me to be a bit OP. I played some rush, and a conquest game with Rage77, the rush maps seemed a bit geared towards the defenders (maybe its just all the jungle-stuff). The conquest map was huge, and the terrain is much more hilly, not alot of flat places, so having the higher ground is a definite need. I like it, I haven't found my class set-up yet, but it definitely worth the money and will be played quite often on my end.

I plan on sploding alot of ish when i get home! i may die alot but mens are gonna get burnstabbed!

WEAPONS! in early vids of the expansion there was talk of the xm22 commando (more or less an m4) maybe they'll add more weapons as the community settels in.... kinda like their doing with the 5th unlockable map!

My step son is playing it now and it's killin' me! His comments were that it is totally different...and...it's totally different. NOT HELPING, ZANDER!

My god what kind of negativity is in here. I played for about 2 hours and I have to say is that I will not be playing regular BC2 for a very long time. Unlike regular in vietnam they actually fixed hit detection and now weapons actually feel powerful. I would just buy it for the fact that helicopters are so easy to shoot down and for the flamethrower.

How people in here are saying it is not fun. Also there are 15 new weapons since everything that is in vietnam had a buff/reskin/recoil rework.

I think it looks badass, I can't wait to get home. In fact I have the GF going to Walmart in order to get the MS I need to play this as soon as I get home.

Never saw and lag or glitches when I played and the only sniper that might be OP is teh m40 but the odd magnification keeps things to a minimum.
