what can i do to get them to like me really quick without advancing the main quest for them, like

This is the best one to exploit, if you do not mind doing a little exploitation.

With Explosives 50, you can talk to Severus in Cottonwood Cove for infinite Fame glitch, with the conversation about teaching him how to disable a frag mine.

Do it 20 times, and you are instantly at liked state.
