I already played it once, now I'm doing it again to do all the sidequests because I didn't do any of them my first time. but I did all the ones available until I have to do another story mission, which I don't want to do because it'll be the same as the last time I played it.

Do the sidequests get better after a while or what?

The sidequests aren't anything remarkable. If you didn't really enjoy your first ME playthrough all that much, and you're playing the sidequests to enrich that experience... then you're going to be disappointed.

The only reason to do the sidequests is if you enjoy the combat, and enjoy grinding to get to higher levels. I do. I fucking love everything about the game.

But you're probably going to get bored, if you didn't have much motivation to do them in your first play through.

I thought the game would pull an Elder Scrolls and let you go back and finish stuff once you finished the game. I was wrong...

Nah but you can carry over your save to Mass effect 2 which has a completely different style

Or you could go New game+ with the same character

They decided to wait until ME2 to add that feature for some reason.

I didn't want to do new game plus because that is pointless. The whole point of replay value is to change the way you play. It seemed like it would be playing through the game with all the same stats again.

the sidequests in the original mass effect are basically go to warehouse x and kill mercenaries with a few exceptions. however in me2 holy shit everything in that game has a great story to it especially the overlord dlc.

Yea, don't expect much from sidequests. I only did them to get achievements really. They're good for the finish whatever percent of the game with whichever companion, and for leveling up. No real significant story value.
