Excited for Battlefield 3 again

When I heard BF3 was going to be all middle-eastern themed my interest in it really, really dropped.

The article in Gameinformer makes the game sound pretty incredible compared to BC2. The most exciting thing for me though is what they say at the end of the interview...

"I won't go into exactly where you will be going, but there will be be more than one setting"... "You won't be in the Middle East all day. You will be in many places for a good reason that I won't give you."

Thank God. I'm sold.

Yeah they said they were bringing back the MEC which was the middle eastern force or the iraqi army types.

I also like how there's gonna be random earth quakes so you can see D3.0 in all it's glory as you watch entire buildings crumble!!

No longer is it gonna be based on a certain amount of damage to a building. If you take out two side of a building those sides will collapse!! FUCKING awesome.

I'd like some domestic warfare. Something about fighting on US soil is just epic. The DC mission from Modern Warfare 2 comes to mind there. Just whatever happens, no more god damned snow DICE. Please, we've seen enough fucking snow.

I gotta say that is the one thing i liked about MW2 the us soil missions were alot of fun!!!

Also reminds me of an old game that was great "FREEDOM FIGHTERS" for the xbox. GREAT fucking game!!! that was in NYC and based off an invasion by the russians. Think red dawn just NYC.

I mean at teh end of the campaign in BC2 they crash land in Texas!! and the general says "YOUR NOT DONE YET!!" then the camera zooms up into the sky and you see a red russian veil getting pulled over canada and south america!!!

BC3 will be based in the USA!!! i wanna fight in the streets DAMNIT!!! i wanna defend the statue of liberty or the white house or the golden gate bridge.

WW3/BC3 will be on US soil..

I always thought the multiplayer was the continuation of the BC2 storyline....

i have a £50 amazon giftcard stashed away for BF3, so i will be able to afford it even if my bank has been drained by rum and beer.

That's exactly what the MP is supposed to be in BC2.

Your playing as a nameless soldier in the fights to gain ground in south america and canada.

Notice how when the map changes the satelite zooms in on either canada or some part of south america!!

Your fighting the battles leading up to the invasion of the USA.

BC3 will take place in the united states. Single player and MP.

I'm sure we'll see some border levels in MP. one of the m-coms will be the us/mexico or us/canadian border crossing!!

I don't think i'll be able to get over the 12v12 to buy battlefield 3. Unless the gameplay vids turn out ok.

But just because the MP is 12v12 or more doesn't make it better!! you can have it be 100v100 but your still gonna have the same issues.

your still gonna have a huge amount of bush wookies and useless players. More of these will just make people even more made at playign the game!!

More useless guys standing around in the spawn waiting for the 1-2 choppers or the uav.

For the most part MORE players just ='s more hassle!!

If DICE can't figure out a way to support more players on consoles, i guarantee they'll scale the maps down to BC2 sizes for 360/PS3. On that note, if consoles don't get at least 16 v 16, I'll be getting BF3 for PC.

I'm honestly thinking of building a PC again!!!

I'm selling my motorcycle so that'll free up a substantial amount of $$$. I haven't done anything PC wise since 2006!!! OUCH.

Homefront just doesn't have a presentation that appeals to me, man. Yeah, it's got some stuff that I like, but it doesn't wrap it up into a package that makes me personally want to play the game.

I just read a preview of one of the misions on Gamespot and it sounds pretty sweet!!!!

1 thing it is damn near impossible to invade the USA. The Logistics are a Nightmare and Nobody on Earth has the Power Projection to pull it off.

Since that scan of the gameinformer came out, I've been pretty excited about this game. Of all things to get excited about though, I want to see what they're doing with the lighting. I think I read that one little "globe" (read the article) has as much information in it as the entire Bad Company 2 game... there was about 10-13 globes in a single screen shot.

So yeah, I'm intrigued.

It was one globe has as much data as one BC2 map, but ya thats still alot. That one screenshot had about as much data as BC2 did as a whole so thats pretty insane.

I think it will be pretty awesome, im just waiting to see how jets are scaled for the map size.

Graphics, lighting, destruction and most importantly (for me) the animation look like they are very improved.

I'm just glad it isn't going to be a complete middle-east bore fest.

Please God, let them actually release a fairly balanced, working game this time. I do not want to wait 6 months for it to be balanced.

Why don't they release "finished" games anymore. I mean it's like me building someone a chair and giving it to them but saying, "I will attach the two front legs later."

It was kinda funny, in the GI article, they said the reason BC2 was terribad at first was because they didnt expect the traffic it got. They expected no one would play it, so they didnt work on servers so much.

BC2 out of the box was probably the least finished, least polished and least balanced console game I have ever played or bought. On top of that it took them a long ass time to fix it too.

The team working on BF3 is twice as big, it has a much larger budget and they've been in pre-production on it since before they started BC2 so hopefully they've got their shit together this time.

While I don't think it was that bad, I do like the fact that they are able to update and patch issue in games now. What I don't like is the extra "sells" of maps, weapons, and re-skins. That's just BS.

Ya the BF3 team is much better. And the way the said stuff in the article, they arent nerfing stuff just cause the little kids complain about it. Only if it actually needs to be nerfed, since they said there is a counter to every tactic that can be used.

Console get's patches too, but most games at least work out of the box without me having to hunt down a driver or re-configure some shit.

It was a driver issue that made me execute a computer in my parking lot once.

Ha! Not sure, you mentioning the PC BF's just reminded me of my hate of doing battle with PC games.

Not sure what you mean about CoD though. BO has had 2 patches (plus minor live fixes) and MW2 had a couple that I can remember. Or do you mean just on PC?

BO has had like 3-4 now I think. Not including the minor updates that don't need o download(hot fix?)

yeah, treyarch doesnt seem to have a problem with patches, thats IW.

They STILL havent fixed OMA/DC/n00b tube
