If anyone on here is into rts games they should check out shogun 2 total war picked it up today and have been working on the campaign for a while. It's much better than the previous entries, mainly because it feels so fresh. I began playing total war games since rome and they've been keeping with the same ui and such since then (I skipped Empire but I can't imagine it was that much different). Shogun 2 however has a completely different one it follows more of the style of japanese art of the 16th century for example instead of having a picture one of the soldiers in the unit to represent the unit on your screen they have a drawing of a samurai cavalry. They also got rid of the rebels, no more 5 or 6 turns of scrambling trying to grab provinces without consequence while they're still essentially unoccupied.
Haven't tried the online yet it seems cool apparently your general avatar guy can gain experience which effects how tough and influental he is in the battle sounds kind of cool but I usually get my ass kicked in online rts games so I rarely do that. I think that they do have an online co-op campaign though or something similar not entirely sure how it works.
Anyway just thought I'd throw it out there, games been getting great reviews but from what I've seen advertisement wise and such it's mostly slipping under the radar.
edit: Oh also worth mentioning not sure if I'm just rusty but this is seeming to be by far the hardest total war game in the series so far.
