DA2 and saving

Just a warning to all my fellow DA2 players.

Do not move, sneeze, look around or fidget while your game is saving. So far I've had 2 save corruptions. The first one I can sort of understand because I brought up the turn off console screen before remember I was in the middle of saving. The second one, I wasn't doing anything at all in the midst of saving except maybe walking forward.

This is the only game I've ever had this problem with. I googled it, and apparently a lot of people are having the same problem. So be careful!

i am so glad my only glitches were the occasional "Cannot load area" crashes, and a bodiless Sandal.

Only glitch I had was on first playthrough Isabella wasn't in the hanged man. There on the 2nd one though.

Sandal is my favorite! "enchantment"

Anywho havent had saving glitches, but have glitched cheevos and missions

hmmmm, seems unlike bioware..... Wonder if they rushed it a bit.

They might have rushed it a bit. There were no push backs that I can remember. They usually patch pretty fast though.

Heebs thinks I might be having some glitch problems with Merrill too since I have yet to get a companion quest for her beyond...

Other than that I haven't had any problems... that I've noticed anyway. I don't really pay attention to achievements though, so I really couldn't tell you on that front.

I love how Sandal knows new words now! Like... BOOM! looool He's so damn cute it's not even funny.

Yea "boom" was pretty good in the dark roads.

i have been pretty fortunate with my DA 2, i only get the occasional glitches. if my saves got corrupted i would slap a ho.

Haven't played DA yet, I've been working on Mass Effect 2. I plan on getting to DA after ME.

I'm just happy for autosaves and the fact that I'm a save whore.

I do wish they had a delete saves option though, that would be nice... it's starting to get a little cluttered, especially with those 2 bad ones in there.

Well you could delete saves from your hardrive. It's a bit tedious to make sure you have the right one but if you were like me on orgins you had to many save files not to delete a few.

I think im leveled pretty high for where im at. Level 13 after getting back from the deep roads. I do love my Dead Space 2 armor as well.

being a save whore is a side effect of playing rpgs. I've been playing them since i was 8, and FF at that time was known to throw in that random enemy that could kick your ass at anytime. So saving wasn't an option as much as it was a necessity.

I usually only run 3 saves at a time. 1 base save, and 2 saves for other business. 1 of those would be a "hmmm... will I make it out alive?" save lol. But between 2 bad saves and some accidental clicking of create new save, I have like 6 or so saves piling up and it bugs me so bad.

i save ALL THE TIME. sometimes i save, fiddle with my inventory, then save again. it drives my boyfriend batshit. i usually have 3 saves, and i don't trust autosaves, though they have saved my arse on more than a few occasions.

this is where I get weird: I only ever have one save at a time. Every RPG I have ever played I only have one save. I always figured that if I get stuck in game (which does happen) I need to get better and figure it out (which does happen). The only time I remember having to start a whole new game because of being stuck was Super Metroid, and I got back to were I was the next day.

i like to save at integral parts of the story, so i can go back and pick different responses, because i am anal like that >.>

otherwise i plow through it. i love rpg's, best kinds of games in my not so humble opinion.

I just do another playthrough. these multiple choice rpgs are new to me, so i have a couple PT's per game.

I remember getting stuck on a game with only one save. It was the one and only Final Fantasy game I ever played. I totally screwed myself leveling up since I didn't really know what I was doing due to their weird system.

I could not beat a boss. Tried for days. Finally gave up and never touched the game again. Soo... multiple saves. Even though I do try more than once. Hell, I'll spend half my game time trying to kick somethings ass before I give up.


Nooow. Anyone other than Heebs and myself having trouble picking who to take with them and where to go next? I think I spent a good hour of game time dicking around while trying to decide this. I ended up quitting and doing something else because I couldn't decide lol

So far im dissapointed.in party choices! I got no sexy ladies damnt!

Heh, I remember how my Zelda: A Link to the Past catridge would crap itself when I was a kid.

I would get to fight Ganon, and the slightest touch on the catridge would erase all the data. It was almost a ritual managing to turn the game on when it refused to work with just switching the SNES on. I had to take it out with the utmost care, and get rid of the dirt.

I literally got to the end of the game 3 times, but I could never beat it. The POS would reset itself all the time, and by the fourth time, I forgot how to get the golden gloves and I didn't know english back then

The RAAAAAGEEEEE. I had to beat the game about 8 years later when playing the GBA version <_<

Anyway, I played the DA2 demo and while the graphics are... crappier, at least they fixed the faces. It was all right I suppose, I will buy it once I manage to beat all of DA1 D:

Remember how I said I had a quest glitch? Yea it was the Isabella one! I couldnt get into the chantry! The damn door wouldnt open to kill hyder. So I think Im screwed! Went to the deep roads, got back and her quest was gone but yes she is sexy!

The graphics are better in the retail than Origins imo. By quite a bit.

I had no idea you could do Isabella in Origins, I have to try that when I get Leliana into kinky mode.


And the graphics are kinda weird. The landscapes in DA2 feel so empty and dead, at least in the demo. And some things just look a bit worse, like say, the Ogres.

The faces are quite better in DA2 though. And, maybe it's just me, but the females are more endowed in DA2 Not that the graphics will matter much anyway.

You cant nail Isabella in Origins Ars. Only Morrigan and Leliana for the.females. I did them both, Leluana for fun, and Morrigan out of neccesity:)

You can. Well, that's what I read, even if she's not a party member. You don't need to romance her, apparently. You just find her and she's like "Hai guyz! You are cute!".


I actually had more fun with Morrigan, even if she's a crazy bitch. Leliana felt kinda boring for me. I haven't gone through all of her dialogs though, I plan to do it in my next playthrough (whenever that is...) with my male elven rogue. Right now, it's my female dalish elf trying to get poor lil' Alistar into her claws. Poor bastard.

you can have a threesome in Origins with Isabella, yourself, and your chosen lover. i never accomplished it, though.

and i love Fenris sfm, and Anders, too, though he is a whiny bitch now. which is sad.

I read you can even have it be your character, Isabella, Leliana and Zevran <_<

Also, Anders... isn't he that mage from Awakening? I want to finish that too, just played about 5 hours, but I'm kinda busy finishing plenty of Origins first.

Also I love me some Varric. The humor is pretty great.in 2 if you pay attention. I love picking the jackass remarks in conversations. Often hilarious lol.

I've only done the first companion quest for Anders, as my game has decided it hates me and really only spawns companion quests regularly for Varric, and sporadically for Fenris. Other than that, beyond the first companion quests, I've received nothing for everyone else.

It's also glitching on other quests now too, and due to not being able to get certain companion quests, I can't complete some side quests... So, I probably won't be playing it much, if at all for a while since I'm horribly pissed off at it. I want a patch, and I want it NAO!

Yah ars you should probably finish awakening before you get to far into da2. You won't be lost or anything but there's a few spoilers.

I'll finish it at least once with my elven mage. One day <_<

The only thing I don't like is the lack of character interaction. It's not as good as the one in DA:O.
