Crysis 2 review.

Crysis on consoles really just kinda defeats the whole point of crysis.

i would want it on PC (dont have one)

Apparently the SP is amazing graphically. An supposed to look as good as KZ3.

I went to wallyworld last night with the intention of getting homefront.

HOWEVER when i got there they had no copies, but i decided that if Crysis 2 were available i'd get it.

SO it got Crysis 2 yesterday afternoon.

Graphically YES it is impressive. For a console game it's very detailed.

Controls a very smooth! they rival a dare i say COD finesse. Aiming is a breeze and movement is overall like butter.

Sound: the music score is very dramatic and well versed for the gameplay. This game probably has the best title music in any game i've ever played, it really gets you pumped for action.

the gunfire is impressive as well. there is recoil but it's very manageable. when your in alleys or streets the echo of gunfire off the buildings is cool to hear.

AI: i haven't noticed any quirks just yet. BUT i will say if you fire a rocket or throw a grenade the enemy will actually seek cover to avoid DEATH. the don't just cringe and stay in place.

they will also when in a group split apart and try to flank you on both sides. THIS gets annoying as you now have to multitask. BUT using your suits abilities helps here.

NANOSUIT: your given two default abilities.

CLOAK: duh turns you invisible (to a certain extent) when an enemy is facing you you can get to about 10' from him before he actually sees you.

ARMOR: great for tough spots. you don't become invincible but you can take A LOT more damage.

using these in conjuction with each other is great. Many times i've hit LB for armor and run around a corner to instantly hit RB and go invisible then come out again and stealth kills mutha fuckas.

MP: haven't tried yet.

SP: awesome a very good game that i'm still playing and envision playing a few times more. You also get armor upgrades as you go. when you kill an alien a mist cloud appears. standard grunts give you 100xp and these little crawling things give you 20xp. with this xp you can tap the back button and your left hand shows up on the screen, from there Y is your index finger X is your middle then A and B.

Each has certain unlocks for your armor. be it to help your armor be stronger or you be more stealthy.

Overall i'm impressed with the SP and hope the MP is just as good.

So its good? I hated the demo. I thought so many things were bad about it

the demo was strictly MP. well atleast the dashboard demo i downloaded.

I've only played the SP and gotta say i'm liking it.

I'll try the MP maybe tonight.

I kinda want this game.....but Socom 4 is only a month away. Update us when you hit the mp Tater.

so far the major game reviewers are saying it's good.

MP is fast paced like COD supposedly and camping is not as easy because of the vertical abilities of the players now.

i haven't experienced the "glitches" it's talking about yet however. THEY are minor though.

MP i can see the nanovision which is mostly heat vision, being abused. however it only works in medium to close distances. and the invisibility means nothing if nanovision is enable. Nanovision is the predators heat vision.

otherwise the game plays great and i agree with everything said in the review.

mp demo sucks man. From what i heard get crysis 2 for the single player.

I played the MP a good bit sunday and monday.

Hit detection can be a bit funky

the weapons don't really feel like their doing anything when you fire them..

pistols are a waste of time.. 1-2 clips to kill a guy!!

the abnormal powers bestowed upon your online character are vast. and the game caters to the experienced FPS'rs.

I got my ass kicked for the first 2 hrs of play. RAGED and turned my xbox off. Then i tried a different tactic, apart from running in guns blazing. And started to enjoy the game online. I played a mode called "crash site". an NPC chopper drops a beacon in 1-4 random locations. then both teams have to fight over the control point. this game mode was pretty good.

TDM is a waste of time. Atleast with Blops you have a sense of achievement when you win.

I played nothing but Crash SIte once i unlocked it.

Single player! Holy crap! ALl the bashing I have heard about Homefront and single player is not what FPS games are about! The demo for MP on this game was trash and tottally turned me off fromt he game. Maybe I am alittle jaded from Halo Reach but Not a fan of Sci fi shooters. The crash site mode sounds.... mmmm kinda cool but its just another take on Domination sounds like.

Variations of DOMINATION.

BC2 has conquest which is domination.

Homefronts domination mode has the capture 3 flags and push the other team back.

CoD has Domination capture 3-4 stationary flags and accumulate points.

Crysis has Crash site, capture a point that gets randomly dropped in 1 of 4 different locations, then hold it for a certain amount of time and it'll blow up, then another one drops randomly 20 seconds later.

Honestly i can't convince anyone that the single player is good, but I thought it was GREAT!! very unique and never boring. I enjoyed going all predator as much as i could during the campaign. There are several times you can take 2-3 different routes in levels, be it all guns blazing, or stealth or a mixture by flanking.

I also liked how the entire game is played from your characters eyes. never is a cutscene done in third person. All the cutscenes are from your characters stand point. Also another good thing is being able to upgrade your suits abilities on the fly.

I got a good 10.5 hrs out of the campaign. I'm happy with my purchase overall.

MP has some issues, but what game doesn't. Things will get fixed and it'll get better.

I actually liked the MP demo. Nothing too unique or anything but it played very smoothly and looked sexy. Maybe it's because I haven't played a CoD game for a while so it felt a little more fresh for me.

MP notes

Yes there are kill cams like CoD.

One interesting addition, when you get headshotted. In the killcam You see that last 5 seconds of your life and the final bullet that penetrated your dome goes in slow motion.

you can skip the killcam if you don't wanna watch.

The maps are very...ummm.. VERTICAL. multi tiered levels and many areas to attack from.

Again getting used to the MP takes time, but i'm enjoying it after leveling up 9 times.
