Just thought Id make a shout out to drummers Basically, anything you want to talk about that has to do with drums, go for it. Im in the mood, lol

Sooooo, what kind of set do you have? Or what do you play?
I have ludwig accent combo set with Zildjian ZBT cymbals.

I bang the drums a bit, but I wouldn't consider myself a drummer, at least not accomplished one.

no set for me. All I got is a snare stand with a practice pad and an Eliminator double pedal on another practice pad. I tend to go and practice at the squat on campus, which has a rehearsal/jam room. Some pretty cool drums now, Tama I think, with a bunch of broken cymbals.

So what kind of drumming are you in to?

I've got a Tama Superstar 6 piece with some Sabian B8's and Gibraltar hardware. I spent around 1200 on the whole kit and I hardly ever play it...




Here's an old picture I took of it right after I set everything up. It's arranged in a much more playable fashion now, but as I said... I hardly ever play it.

As far as music, I like to bang out rock (of course), but im also into jazz. Im in the school jazz band, and will be in the combo next year.

Also, the tama superstar is BEASTLY. I remember seeing that model in the Casio catalog and thinking it was sexy XD
The next set I buy will most likely be a Pearl Masters with K Custom cymbals, or a Gretsch. The Gretsch Catalina maples are nice, But I may go with something a little more expensive.

Meinl make pretty sweet cymbals. I've also quite liked the sound of any Istanbul I've ever heard.

Meinl are really nice. They have a very percussion like and natural sound, versus the distinct sound of Zildjian. Zildjian tends to be smoother/sharper. I am a huge fan of the K custom series though XD
But hell, who am I kidding? We all know that the Pearl cymbals that are included in their 400 dollar drum sets are the best! Its like hitting a trash can!

I guess if I could afford new cymbals, especially meinl, it would be nice. But I cant. Everything in the percussion world is so damn expensive
