Dark Souls Collector's Edition.

I was just going to wait for a price drop, but now I have this itch to pre-order.

Basically, if you pre-order you get the collector's edition. Yes, you pay 60 dollars and that's it. The Dark Souls Collector's Edition will come in a metal case and will include an art book, mini strategy guide, behind-the-scenes development videos and a download of the game soundtrack.

Sounds like hell of a deal just for pre-ordering it. I wish more publishers would try things like these.

Anyway, it's kind of a sequel to Demon's Souls. Check out the trailer Epyk posted, it's an action-rpg game.

Too bad I bought all of the collector's editions already. MWAHAHAHAHA!

I hope they do bump up the difficulty a bit. Once you've gotten used to it Demon's Souls isn't that hard. I have more problems navigating through the levels than fighting any of the bosses.

Jesus Demon Souls made me rage quit. I have plans to play ot again though. I must be doing something wrong. I for the life of me cant get past the 1st boss in level 3. World 2 was hard as hell too. I should probably look online at some strategies to figure it out better.

The Fools Idol is easy unless you don't kill the guy sitting above the chapel before you go into the boss area. If you don't kill him then the Fools Idol will keep respawning.

If you want i could run through some of the worlds as a blue phantom with you when PSN is back up.

Difficulty is of course a big part of Demon's Souls and you've said you're ramping it up even further for Dark Souls. How much more difficult is it?

It's hard to define how much more difficult it will be, but my goal is to make it as difficult as possible (laughs), but obviously make it possible for players to complete the level and the game.

I want users to feel rewarded when they conquer a mission. A theme we constantly use is 'try to make it as spicy as possible but let the people eat it and feel that it tastes good', that's an analogy we use.

Amazingly I found World 1 easy as pie. Think I only died twice. Once to that crazy red knight gaurding something I cant get to and once to Phalanx. Then I started getting pwned lol. Whats the best clasd starting out as? My character is a magician.

Royalty is the best class to start out as. You get a mp regen ring and start off with soul arrow. Soul arrow alone should starting out a little easier.

You will want to grab the Crescent Falchion in 4-1 ASAP. It is good enough to get you through world 2. Then you can just use the Dragon Longsword that is found in 2-2. You will be able to find enough Dragonstone chunks and pures to upgrade it to +5. You may need to do a little farming for shards though.

The Dragon Longsword's damage doesn't scale with any stat and so you will be able to put a little more into vitality and endurance early on without sacrificing much damage. It will last you until NG+ at least.

I get pissed when I go all the way through a world, collect a million souls, and die by getting jumped by some demon dog out of.nowhere and die instantly! Rage! The game makes you memorize the worlds it seems.

As for dying, you can hold down the Home button and quit the game as you die. That way the game will load from before you died if you quit in time. It saves a lot of souls and a lot of time running back through a world.

That way you can keep in body form the entire time and take advantage of the higher hp and not needing to use Cling Ring.

Nice exploit haha. I seem to do fine in melee combat,but get destroyed by fire and projectiles.

You should get the Purple Flame shield from the dragons nest in 1-1 if you're having problems with fire. Also get the Water Veil spell.

Those along with a ring of fire resistance should cut the damage considerably. The only problem with the shield is that it has a strength requirement of 22.

Yea im a magician so I have the water spell, which helps some. But im to damn weak to carry that shield(thunk I have it, have 2 high level ones I cant use). So im thinking of just restarting.

If you're going to start again then i recommend choosing Royalty and going straight to 4-1 to get the Crescent Falchion after beating the Phalanx. You don't even need to complete 4-1l, just grab it and book it back to the archstone.

CHEATING!

The difficulty is what makes this game, I can't imagine short-changing myself that way.

I started as Wanderer class because it sounded cooler than all the others (couldn't stand my character screen to say Royalty on it).

I picked all the weapons/armor/equipment I used based off how cool it looked, not how good it was. I had a ton of powerful stuff I didn't even use because it looked goofy.

That's how I play games though. As if every decision I make is permanent, I never reload to try a different decision or because I missed an item or because a character died etc.... I just enjoy playing games that way.
