So I decided to watch an episode or 2 of MLP last night out of respect for the bronies on this forum. I ended watching 5 episodes and actually thoroughly enjoy it. I fear that this condition is incurable. Bronitis is contagious through the internet! Someone needs to find a cure before I fully mutate!

Eh, I get enough action in the rest of my media that I can chill with a bunch of pastel ponies just livin' life. The light-hearted humor is the biggest draw to me because it reminds me so much of the cartoons I watched when I was little.

This is not at all what the cartoon is about. Granted, we get an episode summary in life lesson format at the end of every ep, it's out of the way of the actual cartoon.

If you do one thing for me, ever, watch this from start to finish. It couldn't be any further from so called girly frilly fru fru life lesson crap.

I've yet to watch it, I might, who knows, I may be converted into a believer if I do.

I've lost all faith in western cartoons and that's my biggest fear with this, it's so depressing, the late 80's and 90's were certainly the best years for western cartoons.

To name a few favorites.

Duck Tales, Dark Wing Duck, Animaniacs, Goof Troop, Dexters Lab, Tiny Toons, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Doug, The Wild Thornberries, Power Puff Girls, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. The list goes on.

Who created Friendship is Magic.

I'm not worried. A lot of people are, but it's the same team of people as before, and judging by the stuff Hasbro's done in between seasons, they seem to know how to reach out to the older fans without overdoing it.

I AM worried that the anticipation is going to create too much of a hype monster, and season 2 won't be able to live up to anyone's expectations. We'll always have season 1, at least.

Jayson Thiessen has said plenty of times that season 2 won't be much different than season 1. Expect some in-jokes for the brony community, but that's it. He knows that too much fanservice kills shows.

She still had a small role in some of season 2, but FiM is made by many people. I have faith in the writers, animators, and director(s?) that they won't let us down.
