World War Z had slow Romero-esque zombies, much like the Solanum based virus zombies of Brook's other book, Zombie Survival Guide.

Either my eyesight is going or I'm seeing zombie run...I'm already slightly disappointed.

true but generally speaking the protagonist usually comes out on top...most people are a sucker for a happy ending. And Hollywood loves pandering to that lowest common denominator.

but it's entirely possible this movie could be an exception to the rule.

yeah or 28 days/weeks later. I've always enjoyed the fast zombie twist on things just to mix it up once and awhile. Seeing a zombie go after someone in full sprint...scary shit.

I really want to read the book one day...listened to like the 1st two chapters on audiobook on youtube,and damn for me,it started off too slow, damn short attention span.....lol

The main fear about slow zombies is their power in numbers. Sure, a running zombie is scary shit, but it's much more unnerving to be cornered by dozens of the undead slowly closing in while you're left with just one clip.

oh for sure. I don't like fast ones all the time...just once an awhile it makes a nice change of pace (pardon the pun Smile )

Yep.

Another big part was the whole zombie moaning aspect.
Upon detecting "food" zombie moan, this attracts other zombies, that start moaning, that attract more zombie and so and so forth and from all directions. It would also occasionally drive people insane.

That looks awesome.
It might be wrong and against the book, but I love how the zombies are like high-speed zombie lemmings just mindlessly charging en-masse... Like a roiling wave of flesh.

Very different from the normal fast/slow zombie idea.
