basically there are a bunch of 2 lane roads in.
you drive in and go around the roundabout and take the turning you need to take.

you all go in the same direction around the roundabout, because its in a circle you can get from any road in to any road out.

Yeah, you almost never see any intersections in england.

I like roundabouts better, you never have to wait at the light; you can just go on through.

Roundabouts are better IMO since you usually don't have to stop, or stop for very long if people know WTF they're doing, which 99.99% of the time, people here in the US don't know WTF they're doing while driving on the road.

We have several here now and several more going in.
People complain and say they don't like them a bunch, but they are way better than lights. Rarely have to stop and wait and even if you do it's only for a few seconds till you have a chance to jump in. They are far faster traffic movers than stoplights.

We've had a few added recently. I definitely prefer them over a 4-way stop-sign intersection but dear god some people are total morons when it comes to them.
