How old does a game have to be before it's considered "old school"?

If it's old enough, Majora's Mask.

If not, then Super Castlevania IV

I'd say those aren't old enough.

I'd say 2D systems and back. Snes and Genesis would be late-old school.

The original Metal Gear (Nes)
Starflight/Star Control (ancient PC)
All the infocom text adventure games. (ancient PC)
Temple of Apshai (atari 800)
Kings Quest (Ancient PC monochrome days)
Defender (arcade/Atari 2600)
Laser Blast (Atari 2600)
Raid on Bungling Bay (commodore 64 or Vic 20 can't remember)
Miner 2049er (Atari 800)
Venture (Coleco vision)
Anything on the Vectrex
Milons Secret Castle (Nes)
Blades of Steel (Nes)
Shadowgate (Nes)
Road Rash series (Genesis)
Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis)
Choplifter (Commodore 64/Atari 800 I think)

...Jesus, I could add a hundred more so I'll stop.

Yes a true classic. I miss the still frames of celebration after scoring a glorious touch down.

HOw about the animation for a sack. there the QB lays and up from nowhere you pop up hovering over him menacingly lol.

The Bills where OP in that game. Dallas won the SUper Bowl, but Buffalo had the BEST team on that game. Thurman Thomas, Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Don Bebe, and I'm forgetting the other receiver who was better than Bebe.

I forgot about Lego Racers. I fucking loved that game. Not too much the 2nd one though. I also played almost every Army Men game. They all were pretty awesome except for Sarge's War and Air Tactics.

I wish I could find Zombies Ate my Neighbors on XBLA or something like that. That game ate up sooooo much time of my childhood.

get an emulator sym 95% of my list I wouldn't even have played if it wasn't for emulators. With torrents it's easy to get an emulator and like every game ever for whichever system is being emulated.

Oh and I forgot one from my list Super Punch-Out! (duh)
