Yeah DLC has been getting crazy with certain games.

Well TF2 is free to play and you don't NEED anything from the Mann. Co. Store. It's mostly cosmetic and most of it can be found or crafted in game for free.

Civ 5's DLC is presented horribly. There's a good example.

5 dollars for an extra civ? Fuck you.

Fuck. That. Shit. DLC was fine when it was actually adding something to the game a while after release. Now it's like they're taking stuff out so you need to pay extra for it on the day of release.

I remember when it used to all be free. It wasn't until quite a while into Xbox LIVE that everyone started charging for it.

So yeah, fuck you Microsoft for starting that trend.

Don't hate. We xbox players made the choice to accept that marketing ploy.

It's all Halo's fault. I remember being surprised at something that cost extra money when I tried to play Halo 3 online. So I said fuck that and bought Battlefield Bad Company instead.

in BC1 they made an entire new game mode with like 10 maps and released it for free.

Lets go back all the way to the source then. WoW. Or Runescape.

I don't remember having to pay to play H3 online.

I think he meant the annoying-ass map-pack screen you'd get every time you'd play matchmaking.

I think the first game to have paid DLC was Mech Assault, either that or Halo 2 maybe.

I really try my hardest not to give into it but I have bought a few DLC things. I actually got around buying the Halo 2 one because my neighbor had it on a disk and you could install it. I wish they still did that.

They used to just have expansion packs. With them you'd actually be getting a shitload of new stuff rather than like 2 new cars for $15 or some bullshit.

And don't get me started on the on-the-disk DLC bullshit. I just avoid buying games that do that.

Except you get a ton of content in Wow and Runescape and them being MMO's and all. What are you trying to say?
