Forza 4 vs Forza 3

I heard here that they took out endurance races in Forza 4?

been thinking about getting back into racers...so many good times playing Gran Turismo 3 and 4 back on PS2.

Some of my favs were doing the endurance races to get some good cars and money though...

here's something I read from a comparison video

"Forza 4 is not really better than 3. Some tracks like camino viejo look better, others like the Nurburgring (full circuit, not GP) and especially LE MANS got really worse.
They changed a lot of trees from 3d in forza 3 to 2d in forza 4, which makes some tracks look really ugly. Just compare the le mans track in both games.
There are also some tracks where it seems that they took out some of the graphical details for performance.
The Aliasing is also pretty bad in this game."


so,um,is 4 really worth it over Forza 3?Forza 3 was just 1 disc,but I heard Forza 4 is like 3 discs.....

are the graphics really better?

I was watching my bro play his Forza 3 on his little SDTV and it looked DAMN good even on the SDTV,so I don't know how much better it can get with Forza 4 really...

Forza 4 is 2 discs. One is just downloadable stuff though. Once you install it then your done with that disc.

Cant really say about the graphics...dont really pay attention to the changes as it looks damn good in both.

Really its just a new game. New cars and a few new tracks. I like it...then again I got it for free so cant really say if its worth what ever the price is right now.

I think they removed the endurance races in forza 4. Then again endurance races in forza 2 and 3 arnt really what Id consider endurance races compared to GT3. Dont think Ive ever actually had to pit in any forza races where as it was common in GT3. Endurance races in Forza from what Ive seen are just extra laps while in GT3 you actually needed some strategy in pitting.

And with the forza series you dont actually get cars from races like in GT (if I remember right...been a long time) You get free cars for leveling which you will do in any combination of races.

ah so the endurance was kinda pointless then >__> I liked it for the strategy and getting good stuff for winning them in GT3

I guess gas and oil and tires burning out don't matter in Forza either then?The only time I remember them mattering in Gran Turismo was GT4 on those 24 hour endurance races

I dunno...I'm kinda torn

Not sure if tires wear out or if oil needs to be changed in Forza. I know that most, if not all, endurance races were not even long enough for you to run out of gas. All I remember about endurance races in GT3 was my brother setting me up with an indie car going against street cars on some oval tracks lol but I do remember needing to pit a lot in that.

I like the game. I have a few cars in forza 4 that I really wanted in Forza 3 but couldnt get. And I kind of have mixed feelings on the career mode...changed a lot from forza 3.

There is tire wear and fuel loss in Forza 4, but it in any non-custom races tire wear doesn't have a huge impact, and you never need to refuel.

I don't recall seeing any 2D trees, so if they did that they did it well. But I did like how Nurburgring looked in F3 better.

Other than that it's definitely superior, but the difference is monumental.

I was reading some more and it said in Forza 4 now you can create a car club and share the cars with your friends and instead of there only being 8 cars in a race,there
s now 16...

seems cool

I dunno if the 16 cars make it a clusterfuck or not haha

I can't wait for a Forza that has weather effects. I'll be all over that.

That was as far as I was concerned the only thing was missing in Forza 3.

Id like to have some night races. Would be awesome to have one of those long winding road races (cant think of names but the ones that are in the woods and such) in the dark.

I think the new rivals mode they added makes it worth it to get 4. Plus the cars look like sex in 4. Also the cars handle better in 4 I find...they are alot funner to drive in my book.

I just can't bring myself to shell out the money for yet another edition with no night driving or weather effects. Driving in perfect sunshine weather gets boring fast. Some slippery rain racing would be nice, or even some snow.

But, but, there's an overcast option on some tracks!

I am not a big fan of the drifting.. My buddy loves it though. I know you can find people on the Forza GFAQS board that do.

Very tempted to pick this up... Is it going for less than full price anywhere?
