Okay, managed to go to pick up dry cleaning...

As part of my "get out of the house" type strategy. I accidently made the door kinda slam on the way in because I didn't know that the door would shut so quickly, so I had to apologize to the older lady at the counter looking at me funny. I asked for the coat (not mine, picking it up for family), and by the time I confirmed the name and number I was starting to shake, lol. I got it, and walked the couple blocks home. My mom said I could use whatever money that was left of the twenty (in this case $14, but I wouldn't use all of it), to buy lunch, but I don't really want to walk over the restaurants or have to deal with that again, lol. I don't know how I managed to talk to the cashier for food in college (took me 3 weeks to gather up the courage, but still).

I occasionally have those kind of locking up issues, but only in a large group of people I don't know. Parties where I know only maybe one other person are the worst for me.

I don't go to parties for that reason, lol. That, and large groups of people or people I don't know period just make me nervous. I may go to lunch in a few hours, but then again, we're having burgers for dinner, and I don't want to really have the same thing twice in the same day, so I'm just eating cereal for now.

I was always the weird person in my family who wouldn't put milk in his cereal. I hate milk in cereal, though I think I'm the only one.

Yeah, pretty much. :/ Someone mentioned in another topic that socializing and getting out more would probably help my health, but it's more difficult than I thought.

That must be pretty stressful for you. I honestly don't know what might be good advice for you, but I'd start small with people you see regularly but don't really know. Just get comfortable with exchanging pleasantries, small talk etc...

You might also try just saying hi, hello or smiling and nodding to random people as you pass each other just to build up your tolerance to interaction.

But Like I said, I don't really know. I'm kind of the opposite.


I was born in Deer Park and my uncle lives on Deer Lake. We go there each July so next summer if we're still in touch on here (and your comfortable with it) we should go out and hit the big city... Deer Park or Collville!
