i saw this on cptsparkles channel the other day.

for some reason my minecraft.jar file won't open so i can't get any mods Sad Sad

Have you tried redownloading the jar?

Edit: btw this is a mod, not a texture pack. Download ModLoader, it makes installing mods easy.

from what i read not that much but you might have to turn your view range down a bit

No modloader. It requires optifine and then has a pretty simple installer.

My regular FPS in minecraft is 220 while my regular fps in this is around 47. I also had to uninstall the mod because apparently it becomes unplayable if I host a server. Which is hilarious because when I usually host a server and play say crysis I get maybe a 1 or 2 fps hit.
