saw that vid and it seems cool,he says that the turtle beach x11s are around the same price at about 60 bucks tho.

I just want something that would work with me being able to talk on the mic and hear people and also hear the game at the same time..

my tv does have a headphone jack on it tho,so could I just save the trouble and plug the headset part into the tv,then the 2.5mm into the controller and be good to go?

I think somebody commented on theirs that they could hear the people talking in their live party, the people couldn't hear him when he talked?idk lol.

my tv already has it's sound setting turned on surround sound, sounds good and deep,I've had it set on that for awhile so maybe I don't need exactly a "surround sound" headset.....just a good budget gaming headset I could use on my pc as well

geek thankies for any help.I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff....I've only ever had barebones mp3 players and real cheapo in-ear headphones so all this surround sound stuff is new to me.

I imagine how good BF3 is going to sound Very Happy

i have X31s and they are great (i think i paid around 100$)

how the audio output is actually through your audio rca cables

the TV shouldn't require a headphone jack

just take a look at a set up PDF for a headset and it should make it more clear

i can explain this better over a live party but yeah any TV with RCA connections (yellow, white, red) will work with TBs

I think I kinda get it now...I saw a video for turtle beach X1s,but heard the mic is crappy on em...but they said to just make sure your tv has audio output and plug the red and white cables into em.

all TV's made after 1990 should have RCA jacks

if you can get the X31s you'll be better off but if you're on a budget then the X11s should be fine

how it works is they give you an RCA splitter that essential makes a dual RCA output. My xbox can be off and i can use the headset for watching movies or TV (with xbox remote off also)

I have a pair of Tritton Detonators and these X12s that I picked up recently for PC gaming (too lazy to switch the headset from PC to 360 and vice versa every time I want to play something.)

If you want cheaper go with the X12s, but if you must have wireless the X31s will do.

thx I'll probably get the x12s since I can use em for pc as well.

I looked on the back of my tv and it doesn't have audio output, only audio input

I tried an experiment tho I figured would work and this gives me hope the headset would work,I plugged my earphones I use into the headset jack on the tv to one ear then my xbox mic to the other and it worked good

The whole thing I'm confused about is if I need that HDMI audio dongle thingy.I can't seem to find an official one and the off brand 5 dollar ones really seem to be hit or miss...

couldn't I just plug the X12s 3.5mm into my tv's headphone jack, then, the 2.5mm into my controller, then, plug the USB into the xbox and be good to go? 0__o geek

Can you take a picture of the back of your TV? Better yet, is it an HDTV? Because if it is, you have RCA jacks. Although I don't think I've ever heard of an HDTV with headphone jacks, only CRTs...

ya it's an HDTV,weird optimum resolution my xbox runs at, 1440x900, I use HDMI

>___> looking at the specs,it claims it has analog audio out,but I swear on the back of the tv both said audio input only...

one set of the red/white is for component, and the other on the right side by the S-video thingy are for the composite 0__o

yeah any TBs will work with that

see the white and red plugs?

you get a part with the mic that goes into those audio ports

Just so you know the x11's, x12's and x31's are all stereo headphones, not surround sound.

Any of you ever tried out a surround sound processor? That guy in the vid used one and he said it was decent.I saw them for real cheap online too,no more than 10 bucks.Certainly cheaper than the processor turtle beach sells haha.

I've never cared much for wireless....I never sit far away enough to need it,and I just think the constant recharging is a pain.

ah....I didn't think that the red/white things would work since they only said input and not output.I watched this turtle beach vid and they said it had to say output...

Guess I got tripped out on the technical terms XD,now it makes sense to me...I just plug it into the red/white at the back of the tv,then the 2.5mm goes into my controller, and USB into the xbox to power it
