Anybody getting it on Xbox?

I rarely ever splurge and buy XBL games but it's supposed to come out tonight on the market place and it would be cool to play it...All the complicated stuff like that circuit stuff confuses the hell out of me more than chemistry class did in school but I wouldn't mind rebuilding the resident evil mansion and town or digging for diamonds...which I never found >__>

I don't plan on buying it honestly. It never interested me that much.

Ditto for me. Heard lots about the game, but i never found much interest in it.

I might look at it. Is there a demo? If the demo is any good I may get it. My kids might like it.

The Xbox 360 edition doesn't make use of the standard crafting interface as in the original version, but still has similarities to the PC's 2x2 and 3x3 crafting grids. The interface doesn't require the Player to place items in the correct place in a crafting menu, but simply shows the blocks required to craft the selected item, and crafts it if the Player has enough blocks.

sounds kinda neat, good for people who don't know the recipes (or have the Wiki open in the background)

The game features split-screen functionality. 4 players in split screen, as well as the possibility to play 8-person online multiplayer game modes in split-screen.

well balls, 8 player MP is P2P but can only between 2 consoles with 4 player split screen each. lame.

Mods, Texture Packs and extra player skins will be available much later.

mods for the 360? this is very interesting. i assume this will be in the form of paid DLC made by Mojang, since it is on XBL.

The Xbox 360 edition includes a tutorial mode not included in the PC version of the game. This tutorial leads the player through the basics of mining and placing blocks, crafting as well as building their first house to survive the night (video).

again, good for new players who don't know much about MC. the first week sucks hardcore if you are a newb.

You cannot change the difficulty mid-game. So once you begin your new world in easy it is always in easy.

well shit. what happens if a newb gets good enough to feel confident on normal or hard but wants to keep his stuff? its probably due to the acheivement system or some really dumb BS like that.

not surprising due to the limitations of the hardware. 1000x1000 is more than most people will actually fill, but it places a lot of constriction on resources as well as biomes. i often end up running 3 or 4k if i want a certain biome or cool location. i dont think mega-builds will suffer from this, since 1000x1000 is still enough for most large models unless they make a city or some ridiculous stuff like that.

Interesting you mentioned this, I've actually been thinking a bit about megabuilding on an xbox. Since there'll be no dedicated server to handle the stress, it seems to me that even within a 1000^2 area (rather, 1000x1000x256 (not inclusive of expansion mods)) the hardware will probably not be able to accomodate a megabuild. Thinking, 8 players over two machines will be pretty difficult, but to try and orchestrate a large scale production on something like that seems unfeasible.

Also, the 1000^2 distance limit will severely limit players who like to live in wilderness. I think the map itself will usually constitute a large central community (a city) and I don't think distance players will be very happy with that.

i dont see that as much of an issue due to the low player count.

at most you have 8 and i seriously doubt it will be widespread, you're talking 6 people at other peoples houses just to play.

Griefing is pretty much non-existant too, if someone griefs you just kick him, or just hit the douche if he is split-screening with you.

Ehat bought it...but we can't play split screen but we don't have an HDTV. Wtf!? I am so pissed off right now...it didn't even SAY that before we bought it.

But when you buy it, a load screen says "Play up to 4 players with HD." We didn't even realize it meant you had to have HD, just that you could use HD with it, until we looked it up.

its because of the menu system, they are apparently unusable if you split-screen on an SDTV. still sucks that they didnt make that clear though

I was thinking about getting this, but after reading about some of it, I don't know. If I can only play with my friends while they are at my house or some BS like that, then that blows. If I can't go to other people's worlds and grief them, that blows too.

downloaded the demo of it...right when I was really getting into it the timer ran out grrrrrrrrrrrr same thing happened with the zombie miner z thing off the indie game.There was another indie mining game called total miner forge or something I always see one of my friends playing

If you both get this game, let me know. I have it. I started watching a couple friends play it, and well that completely changed my mind. We can start a SeC fortress on the Xbox.

The crafting system is so much better, I love not having to look everything up in the wiki.

How does the multiplayer work though? Can you only join games of people on your friends list?

I saw a world listed for me to join the other day of a person I didn't know. They were not on my friends list, but I had heard you could only join people you were friends with. As for anything else with the multiplayer, you don't get to bring anything from your game with you or take it back to yours. If you join a game, make an axe and then quit out, that axe will only be available once you join that game again.

Kalei, I'll join you. I got the game. I played it on PC for awhile and it was fun. THought I would give it a go on xbox and I like it.

THe split screen is fun I've been playing with my daughters. We've bult a 5 level tower that is to become a light house, we now have about 5 layers worth of cobblestone forming a wall for our castle. Had to take out two big ass hills to get enough room for it, and we've found a nice cave system nearby that we've gone pretty deep and have found a lot of iron, some gold, and just found a nice vein of redstone. also found six diamonds.

I have no problem with that DL. Only thing I don't know is if she can join if she has her own gamertag. If she's playing as a guest on your account, I see no problem.

She just plays split screen on my account. I thought I read somewhere that you could splitscreen and join other session????? Maybe I'm wrong. But child labor for the win!!!! HAHA

Yeah you can splitscreen and do live, the video above confirms that.

I didn't realize how outdated this version was though... Not that 1.6 beta was terrible but I mean the PC is several versions ahead, I hope they catch up quick.

that's what really turned me off the pc version,I said fuck memorizing all that stuff lol

well when you play on a server you have many friendly people to help you with crafting

I can sit on my couch and play on my 360, drink a beer, and relaxe. My PC is in my office. I sit in a office all fucking day at work. So just the fact I'm at a desk makes even playing a game a chore.

Also. I always see people talk about mods, and other shit. I like the restriction that the console has. You play it the basic way and thats it. No way to cheat I guess.

This is a really fun and addicting game. I like it. I'l play it on 360 and hopefully I can play with some of yall that have it for 360 soon.

DL, I'll be online over the weekend with this game. My only free evening the rest of this week is Friday, and well I don't know if I'll be online with it or not.

Hmmm Well..... This weekend my oldest daught has a tournament for soccer. I'll be on Friday night but otherwise I doubt I'll be online much this weekend. THis is the close for our spring soccer season tho so I'll have more time after this weekend.
