i updated my drivers, but the newest update isn't compatible with my GPU.

im downloading an older driver (http://www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_92_release_notes.pdf) that does support my AMD 3600 HD. do i just install this straight away or do i have to do anything else?

also, do i need to install the Catalyst Control Center 9.2 AND the 9.2 drivers, or can i use the 9.2 drivers on the newest CCC?

Installing video drivers is pretty simple.

I would do a custom installation and select"Clean installation" or something with that( Ihave Nvidia)

Just let it do its thing and your done. Simple.

I think you just need the Drivers

will the older one overwrite the newer one?

the newest driver doesnt support my GPU, so i need it to be replaced.

Thats why I said go into the custom installation and select Clean install. It will wipe the old drivers from your PC and replace them all for you.

I have Nvidia and always have, so the terminlolgy might be different for ATI.

I hope Im making sense haha.

But you really cant mess anything up by installing drivers if that's your question.

yeah, i have the old CCC and driver. im having to redownload TF2, since i deleted before the restore (doh) but other than that its all good so far.

i didn't have any issues with the driver before the update, and steam said SHINY NEW UPDATE GO!... big mistake. won't be doing that again Razz if it aint broke, dont try to fix it Razz

Okay quick question, are you saying that 12.4 catalyst suite does not support you current gpu? Was looking through the website and it says it does. Could I ask what OS you are on and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit?

32bit Vista. on a 3600 HD.

im not sure whether it was the CCC or the Driver, but something made it not work Razz
