How does Eve actually even play? do you actually pilot your vessel? From my understanding it sounded like one of those face book games were you don't really get to see much other than text and maybe an animated version of your ship outside of combat. I'm probably completely wrong about that.

there is manual piloting which is as simple as double clicking the direction you want to go in

there are also auto pilot commands such as "orbit" and "keep at distance"

you can zoom right in on your ship however that limits FOV
