i'll laugh too, because the GTX 690 costs $1000. Microsoft would have to bleed console gamers dry in order to recoop the horrendous launch costs that would happen if they sold the 720 at a loss of $600 per unit. we're talking $600 per person having to be wheedled through XBL subscription fees and increased prices for MSP, much larger licensing fees, etc.

how much more can they bleed us dry?charge us to turn the damn xbox on? Laughing Laughing

>___> xbox fanboys would gobble that shit up and gladly pay it too I bet

I'd be sad if Xbox's had a GTX690 because that's better than my card...

to be fair, in order for Xbox 720's to avoid bottlenecking they would have to have a better CPU as well. and better cooling most probably. the 720 would turn into a gaming PC costing more than you paid for your PC Razz

well considering how small-ish consoles tend to be putting a 690 in there is a one way ticket to a house fire or a broken Xbox. Not to mention the cost. I'm guessing it'll be lower tier level stuff as always.

The original point of consoles I believe is that they can perform better than PCs because they don't run any other processes besides the games. They'll probably get some good performance out of whatever comes out next.

I'm pretty sure at every point in time PC has always had the capability to smoke consoles. Not for cheap but they had the power if you were willing to dish out for it. I think the point of consoles is a more or less economical entry point into the gaming world for the more "casual" people who don't want to worry about having to learn a bunch of stuff and be able to put together a good PC build or worry about upgrades and such.

They just want to buy their games pop em in and play no hassles. With PC there's alot more tweaking/customization involved and things can go wrong/not work fairly often depending on what you're trying to do.

im trying to get into PC gaming its a slow crawl though Razz

I've switched almost entirely to PC now. I only use my xbox for games I have there exclusively, and as a big screen netflix machine.

If it sold for 400$ and had a 690, that'd be awesome!

Buy the console, strip it down and sell the components. if the card alone is 1000$ new, you could probably sell it for 600$ alone.

i dont mean absolutely but dollar for dollar consoles are better. You can't buy a $250 PC that can run Battlefield 3 and Crysis but you can buy a Xbox 360 arcade.

I'm a PC gamer, yo.

it would most likely be soldered to the 720 and in such a way that removal would either destroy the card or make using it in a PC pretty hard to do Razz

PC just seems like such a hassel. My Xbox needs no upkeep, I don't have to worry about viruses, I don't have to upgrade. Sure its not as powerfull, but I think I would hate using a keyboard/mouse combo. The controller feels so right after holding it for almost 20 years.

God the controller is so limited.

PC is not a hassle if you have a brain, true story.

Upkeep is as hard as setting your virus scan to scan once a week, and DL Malware Bytes. There, your computer is safe.

anyone who thinks a gamepad is better than KB/M has never used a mouse for gaming. it is so much better in every way.

as for controller you can get a game pad or something for PC and all that takes is a little effort to set up and then you have something that works better than most controllers

Edit* damn you adli you posted before me blarg lol

well most console controllers arent very customizable but if you get a game pad you can change every button according to how you want it

That has nothing to do with the controller itself.

I like the hotkey pad.

Bitch let me do 12 skills in 4 seconds with 1 key, while you're tapping away at your F keys

I got a Naga mouse. Makes playing MMO's a breeze.

I don't know if this is just for me, but controller has always felt cleaner when playing a third person game. Like, I love Assassin's Creed on the box, it's a little less compact-feeling on the K/M.
and on flight sims, I love controllers. They make my day. Though a full joystick setup would be badass.

Mr. Lundegaard wrote:I got a Naga mouse. Makes playing MMO's a breeze.

I was looking at getting a Razer mouse, but I decided against it. Most of their mice are total MMO-base, less FPS oriented. I looked at the Deathadder and Abyssus mostly, but their too expensive compared to performance, and I actually like my stock wireless mouse. Though I'm hoping to get a Lycosa or Black Widow keyboard soon.

Also, I tried out the Nostromo gamepad a little while ago. I was at best buy, the guy was a huge gaming geek, showed me the full line and let me try out the Nostromo, Black Widow, Arctosa, and a few mice. The Nostromo is pretty ergonomic, and it feels rather good. Nice performance, but too radical of a change for me. Guess it's a preference thing.

You can use a controller on most PC games...a lot actually.

Meh, you get used to it after a while. I've seen many ace pilots that use only K/B & M

Yeah I'd say that's true, since they have mini joysticks.

I know this, but for most shooters using k/m is practically required or you get trounced.
