I'm currently working on putting together a build that I want to do in September. I think I'm pretty set on what I want to get but there's a few things I keep flip flopping on and was just curious what everyone else was running. Maybe this thread could give me some different/better ideas.

Yeah that definitely blows the pants off the crappy laptop I have now. I'm pretty primed about the build I'm putting together...I'm pretty much going balls to the wall with it. It's going to be beastly.

it blows the pants off my PC too (Radeon HD3650 and 4GB of RAM).

when i played Just Cause 2 on it i almost cried. the game is just LSKFNLSKFNLSKNSLFK. pure beauty.

Yeah I'm going for a rig that will be able to max BF3 and Skyrim (with awesome graphics mods). I imagine it'll be pretty fucking glorious in 1080p when I boot either of those up for the first time.

I think a single gtx 670 will do it but if not I could always go SLI and be pretty future proof for awhile.

Yeah I hear they are quite beastly. They look pretty solid from the max settings BF3 benchmarks I've seen. I'm very tempted to add a second one in SLI like around Christmas since I'll have the money and the performance should just be killer.

is one stick borked? you should only have 0.8GB of unusable RAM on a 32bit system

I like it alot. It gets a bad wrap on the internet. The one I have is still in flawless condition after almost a year of use.

And no I havent had any problems with any keys.

Yeah I've been looking at reviews and stuff for mechanical keyboards and people don't usually think too highly of it. That 2 key roll over kinda turns me off though.

I remember trying to play megaman x on an emulator on my laptop which also has 2kro and it didn't work at all. Couldn't charge up a shot, jump and hold a direction at the same time...such a piss off. I wouldn't want that to happen while I was playing an fps or something.

Yeah seems like the latest generation Nvidia cards are always in demand. I hear it can still be kinda tricky to get your hands on GTX 680's depending on your region.

On the other hand there are terrible driver issues with the video cards for these dual graphics laptops.

It's mostly that the cards that LENOVO puts in their dual graphics laptops happen to be pretty much ONLY used in those laptops so the newest drivers for them are from 2011 and there's no plan to update them. AMD doesn't even acknowledged that my card exists.

Nvidia usually is better optimized and has better dev support since they pay the devs to optimize for their cards.

Yea I know. I hate doing it. I did a much more thorough job on my wifes build. But I had major mobo problems and was forced to replace it 4 times in a month right when I first built it. So after the case swap, it was my 5th time re wiring everything and I got lazy lol.
