New Fallout: New Vegas perks.

Now I want this game, but I don't have enough money and my Xbox is broken

Yeah they do, but this isn't like Fallout 3. Perks are supposed to be more widespread and more powerful than before.

You only get perks every two levels, I believe.

Now i did not play fallout 3 so how did the perk system work in that game?

Well perks are supposed to give little abilites. Like in Fallout 1 & 2. Fallout 3 only had a dozen or so real perks, The rest were just skill boosts. 15 extra to such skill.

In Fallout 3, every time you leveled up, you could select a new perk. That perk always stayed with you, and by the time you reach the level cap, you would have 30+ perks. The higher your level, the bigger the selection of perks is. In order to get certain perks, you needed to have a required skill. For example, one perk required you to have 60 points in repair. Some perks could also be obtained by completing certain quests.

I'm assuming the perk system will be the same in New Vegas, but there are also traits in New Vegas. They are similar to perks, but have a bigger positive effect, and they also have a negative effect.

Required Attributes/Skills: Endurance 6, Barter 70
You have learned how to pack mountains of gear for the long haul. Being over-encumbered no longer prevents you from using fast travel.
