PS4 looks pretty impressive

I find the 8 gigs of GDDR5 hard to believe... I mean shit my graphics card has two.

It's about to cost a fortune.

I'm definitely interested, but it's a bit of a shame they didn't show the hardware or give price details - I guess they want to hold something back for future events.

Do wish they'd moved away from the Dualshock controller design though, as was rumoured a while back. Never been a fan of it, although it wouldn't stop me buying the console if everything else is right for me.

Now waiting to see what Microsoft have to offer.

I just watched the tech demos and the vids for : Knack, Killzone, Deep Down, Drive Club, the system architecture and the controller. It does all look good, but we really have to wait and see.

Remember this is Sony.
The PS3 looked incredibly impressive too, but not a single game or tech demo (or even the system itself) turned out looking or running anywhere near as good as they promised.

So on the one hand I'm super excited to finally be seeing new hardware, but on the other Sony has proven over their past 4 hardware launches that almost anything they say will turn out to be a gross exaggeration.

...I do love new hardware though. I can't wait to see what MS has.

Truth be told I find myself alot more excited for this than I was expecting.

Oh I'm thrilled! I just have to keep reminding myself that "Sony lies" is their entire marketing strategy.

Remember this? PS3 will run all games at 1080 p at 120 frames per second. It will have 2 HDMI outputs for multiple screens. Killzone and Tekken demos are real time.

If next gen incorporate some sort of m/kb interface I would be right there

I have a mouse keyboard set-up for the PS3. You can have it if you want. Cost around $100 and it works, I just couldn't stand playing that way.

I'm pretty sure we'll be able to use any hard drive with it like you could w/the ps3.That's one thing I hated about xbox,you had to buy the very overpriced microsoft one...

The fact it has a "Share" button built in and that you can watch/spectate what a friend is playing in real-time and that it is social connected 24/7 leads me to believe that party chat would be the smallest part of that.

Im probably not going to be buying any next gen consoles for quite a while

Pretty sure I'm done with consoles at this point. I barely use my Xbox anymore.

Watchdogs looked amazing took someone I knew t realize it wasn't played on a PC but a PS4

Jumped ship on playstation and this isn;t enough to bring me back. Honestly I don;t like a lot of the crap they are offering. Share button, the system will learn the games you like and automatically download content to your system. NO I don;t EVER want anything to automatically assume I want something. Seriously its one of those things that pisses me off and creeps me out.

Hope Xbox gets it right.

xbox might get it right. that's what I'm hoping.


honesty, the user-conformity of the PS4 makes me uneasy.

Specs don't mean much to me. Despite a lot of these numbers looking impressive. I will be sitting on the sidelines for a while at launch anyway to see how the next round of console wars shapes out.

looking at the specs of the ps4 now on amazon and I'm not impressed at all with the blu ray player, only 6x speed,and 8x dvd................my 20 dollar dvd drive on my computer is way faster than that. Expect huge slow game installs again =/
