I had never played any fallout games until a few days ago. Played FO3 for awhile but the game keeps crashing when I go to open the Vault and go outside so I jumped over to FONV and goddamn I'm having fun.

I've made a grievous error in not having played these games all this time.

I really like New Vegas alot more than FO3. Just all the stuff in the regular game is good,I never played any mods yet

Yeah I'm having a blast so far and I'm just in the starting town pretty much.

Between those two games I have logged in about 600 hours of gameplay.

I can't say enough good things about both of those games.

NV is much much better imo

FO3 has some issues with W7

i cant run Fallout 3 on my laptop. it keeps crashing out on me before i can finish the tutorial.

its Windows 7 and Quad Core, neither of which are supported by FO3 Laughing

I have Windows 7 and a quad and it runs just fine on my system

New Vegas is... one of the best games ive played. ive put over 100 hours in on the 360 version Razz

I felt cheated when I played New Vegas. I sided with Caesar's Legion which had 3 basically empty towns in the entire game and offered like 4 side quests with one of them glitched and couldn't be started. NCR on the other hand had a ton of towns and a ton (like 20+) sidequests. I kinda want to try playing it again though and side with the NCR this time as mush as I don't want to.

yeah NCR get a ton of quests. there are some great quests where you can side with NCR or The Legion, which is cool too. The Legion could have done with some more love though Smile

I know what you mean.

The lack of Legion stuff is one of the developer's biggest regrets.

Of course the Legion is going to have less towns

The whole plot centres around stopping them crossing the hoover dam or helping them cross it

I'm editing my mod list for FONV.

Removed one MAJOR mod, and replaced it with another large one, so I am editing a lot of stuff.

Well that's fine but there should at least be some NPCs that you can talk to. During the Legion main quest, you help them take over parts of the Mojave. But what can you do in these new legion towns? Absolutely nothing.

Traditionally, you cant really side with 'Evil' faction in FO series. And even if you are allowed to do so, you are doing it almost at the end, where doing anything further was pointless (ie the game ends IMMEDIATELY after joining them).

I should have a look at this. I should probably have a run through of the vanilla game first though.

Run vanilla first, definitely.

After that, start adding more well known mods.

Then you start adding mods that are useful, but not overlapping major mods.

But you will find conflicts.

Then you go find fixes.

But you will not find all fixes.

Then you go learn how to fix it yourself.

Congratulation, now you have wasted as much time as me on this bloody game. LoL
