mine used to hit 75C+ when i would play BF3. Took a can of compressed air to all of my fans and bam! rocking 35C average. Still can't run BF3 though.

Your CPU throttles at 95c, but I generally like to keep my temps below 75c.

Yea but I dont wanna damage my cpu

You think running those temps while playing BF3 will ruin my cpu?

Well like I said, it throttles at 95c. I do not think that it would damage it, but I would look into why your temps are so high. Are you overclocked?

my old gtx 285 used to top out just below 100 when playing skyrim. i gave it away to someone a few weeks ago and cleaned it before passing it off. i was pulling out solid clumps of dust that were like cotton balls... that reminds me i need to clean my PC out before history repeats itself

i know. processor and GPU are both PC parts... i was telling a story about my experience with my PC components having high temperatures.

Ah word

Remember my old Gpu? That bastard reached 98 c on full load in its last days.

I should prob clean my gpu out but I'm too scared to take it apart and it would probably take away the warranty for all I know >_>

hardly any dust gets into my case though

i don't think my 660 has gone above 65. haven't had my monitoring software open in months though

Im always monitoring.

Im paranoid.

Ive always had high temps with this build, and its annoying. First it was my GPU, now its my CPU

Granted the cpu temps are alot easier to fix

After stabilizing mine at 4.6 (somehow...) I'm running at 94~97'ish at 100% load (prime95 test).

Nothing horrible came about. I even run it at near 1.4V.

Regular load doesn't hit above 70, though.

My regular loads are about 62-70

But yesterday BF3 got me up to 84C

Which I think is really high for a cpu

Granted it was really hot in my apt yesterday

Yeah I wouldn't want my CPU to hit those temps. It get's stupid hot in my house in the summer so I'm going to wait till it cools down to overclock my GPU and CPU.

the fan on the cooler might be going out...probably just a sleeve bearing fan which I heard last like 2 years. That's all I can think of that would be making the CPU hot. You could try putting another 120mm fan instead on it and checking if it's good then
