It's amazing how much of a difference the new suppression mechanics have changed how effective bolt action rifles are now.
From the handful of matches I've played, the change has been spectacular and positive. Despite the rounds feeling like they fly a bit slower to their target, the new zeroing system really helps making those long range shots, though ideally, I've found engaging within 100-200m to be the optimal range to be the most effective with the default BA (which is actually pretty good, if not a little slow on the cycle rate)
For me the x6 scope for the default rifle hits the perfect balance of medium long range effectiveness with just enough zoom to make it useful for longer ranges. Bullet drop can still be a bit tricky to see due to the smoke trails, but you can always dial yourself in at the training range for roughly 100-150m to get the hang of how the rifle behaves.
Knowing where to hold for lead without actually having to go into a real match and testing my new rifles at the test range has been an extremely nice feature. The only thing I wish you could do was go out to a 300m line to get a better feel for long distance drop.
Making clean kills with the BA is extremely satisfying, and feels natural as opposed to BF3 where I found myself constantly at odds and feeling relatively worthless when compared to the other kits (subjective to players of course) Nevertheless, while it is a small change to how the recon kit played in BF3, the tweak is an absolute game changer for this kit, and I can see a skilled marksman being a serious force to be reckoned with once the game matures.
I for one being an average to moderate marksmanin BF3 find it MUCH easier to use sniper rifles in BF4 as opposed to BF3, especially in a more aggressive fashion. Well done DICE, you really outdid yourself here with the kit changes IMO.
