To those of you who are or may get a console

Which are you getting and why? I'm debating picking one up, and currently I'm leaning towards the PS4. I've been an xbox fan for a long time though, so I'm a bit nervous about switching. Especially because I don't know if my friends are getting the PS4 or not, and a large part of enjoyment comes from playing the games with friends.
So is there any reason why I should consider getting the xbone over the PS4? Like is there anything major i've been missing while reading all these reviews?

To me there is no reason to get an Xbone unless you cant live without the 3 or 4 exclusives

those mainly being Halo Titanfall and...? I really have only been hearing hype about Titanfall, which is kind of whatever to me. Plus, PS4 has killzone which I have always thought looks awesome.

That and Dead Rising, Ryse and Forza

Ryse looks to be the most qte heavy game in history

I am getting a PS4 because MS pissed all over its customers with the X1 and having to put up $100 for a camera i'll rarely use if ever bothers me.

I will miss Forza, that's about it.

Plus you know M$ just sucks the big one

The camera thing does sort of piss me off. And 500 IS expensive, for basically hardware that won't be used.

Yeah. the PS4 will be $400 and the xbox one is $500.

After the hour or so I've done of research, that's what I'm thinking as well. There just isn't anything at this point that is screaming "Spend an extra hundred for this!"
Plus the PS4 controller and console looks pretty bad ass. And the share button would be kind of cool.

Im on record saying Ill never own a Xbone

But Ill probably own a PS4 some day

I'll be getting the ps4 at some point.....probably black friday, but who knows....I could just wait for the stuff to get cheaper. I'm too used to cheap games on pc now lol.


and yeah they should make an X1 without the camera for 100 less....they're losing people just due to the ps4 being cheaper, and what they tried to pull at first with the X1

The only part of Xbone Ill buy is the controller, and that would be for my PC.

I may put in an order for the ps4 soon. I'm not going to get one at launch for sure, but I may actually work the launch at best buy lol. But I figured if I put my order I could get one before christmas, then spend some money on games on black friday because they will be dirt cheap.

I am trying to buy one from amazon as soon as possible.

Iv'e never bought a console from Amazon before... are they pretty good about stock and whatnot?

we at best buy can not take pre orders anymore. honestly I think anyones best option is just to place an order so that when there is stock available they will send you one.

Brent, you have a pretty decent computer that you can play some games off of. Don't waste 500$ on a console, especially if you're considering moving out any time soon.

I'm getting a X1 at launch...mainly cause I like it's exclusives better(I like the Halo series pretty well), I don't really like the old PS controllers(last PS I played was the PS2), and most of my friends are getting a X1. I may pick up a PS4 at some point, maybe after a price drop...or when I actually find a new job(whichever comes 1st).

The thing is, I get more and more paranoid about my computer every month. All the work I do is on this thing, and I don't really like gaming on it. I haven't even switched over to the windows side in like 2 months. I don't really even want windows 8 on here, but i'll keep it for steam. And this is my last big purchase before christmas, and from then on it's all saving for next year. So I figured I would treat myself to something nice lol.
As for moving out, it'll be me and probably two other guys, so we should have it covered. Especially with my job and internship this summer.

Currently as it stand for me it is:
XBone looks to have all the best and most interesting launch games and features.
PS4 has the better hardware that is also easier to program for.

Both will be good.

so I'm going to get mine Sunday, if all goes well. If not then I'll order it through the bullshit that is sears or K-mart. I really just want the console though, I don't want to have to pay for the extra game and controller.

My co-worker got his PS4 at the midnight launch and can't stop talking about it. Now i just fucking want it from anywhere.

it sucks. I could have gotten one at 2 am this morning but I was stupid and let it slip  

but I'm going to have my sister wait outside of my best buy at 8 am sunday, since technically I can't lol
